white people only. There's been bad behavior from every color of the rainbow since this pandemic began. I can also affirm that in my own family, there were those who didn't believe this virus was real. Trust me, after losing scores of family members, church members, schoolmates, etc., they believe it now.

And it has excellent benefits. Contractors tend to be job shop stuff. But if you have SAP creds and consult elsewhere, you can make $150+hr.
She sounds like a standard IT tool though. Probably in the $75-$100k range. Whatever it is, she can expect half or less elsewhere since elsewhere won't be a top tier company. With fewer benefits. |

63. Exactly
Even if individual executives agree with her stance on masking, companies loathe controversy and bad publicity. There's no upside to having an employee's photo plastered all over the internet, with their company affiliation dragged through whatever controversy is at stake. Also, losing your shit in public is a tip-off that you're not a good investment.

70. That's a pretty standard contract rate for someone with specific skills....
$60/hour is pretty much what a sql expert, a very good windows admin (specializing in azure, ad, etc), or other generic specialty would get.
If you SAP certifications and a track record, you could easily get $150/hour from an agency. I was on a project where they paid a middleware expert $300/hour. She likely isn't a contractor though. It sounds like she "was" an employee. Now, she can't even get unemployment. ![]() |

and was ecstatic when we moved. Yes, Lincoln is the most liberal area of the state, but that's not saying much. Very right wing diocese and lots of anti choice zealots. They used to picket the Presbyterian church in our neighborhood because the OB/Gyn who did abortions was a deacon there. They'd surround this huge church on Sunday morning holding up giant posters of aborted fetuses. They harassed the place where his wife worked to the point she was fired. Nice people.

75. SAP Is A Massive Transactional Database Platform
Depending upon how many modules are turned on, it can be used to track transactions in a company, from inventory control, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, transportation, HR, quality records, etc.
It has a huge proprietary relational database that allows connections across multiple functions, locations, and divisions. Basically, every piece of data that could possibly be related to other types, is interconnected. It's often set up for FDI. (Financial data interchange.) IOW, bills can be automatically paid, invoices can receive funds directly, electronically. Every module turned on cost big bucks. When the company I worked for went to SAP, it was a $35 million dollar project. 10 years later, when the Quality Module was turned on, they paid $4 million, which was 50% of list! It's designed to be browser based, but most integrators use a custom browser, instead of using Chrome or Firefox, or other. It takes significant training just for users. And, after QA testing is complete, Superusers are trained to actually be around other workers overseeing & providing assistance for several weeks. There are other big products like this, but SAP is VERY broadly used, nearly everywhere in the world. I don't miss extracting data from it. |
