After he pleaded guilty in federal court this Friday to obstructing the congressional certification of the 2020 election on Jan. 6, the mother of Jacob Chansley, also known as the “QAnon Shaman,” urged her son to hold out hope for Donald Trump’s return to the White House — where he could then pardon Chansley.

During a Zoom press conference today, Chansley’s lawyer, Albert Watkins, said there’s “a large number of people in this in this country to this day that truly believe that the former President Trump will be president again very soon.”

“I can’t call them idiots,” he added. “Jake’s mother is one of the most beautiful, caring, loving, hardworking women you’ll ever meet.”
