(4,314 posts)I am bummed that twitter changed it so that people can't see replies without signing up. I am not signing up but will continue to lurk.
I usually check a couple times a day for several people.

(32,804 posts)Things have been glitchy on Firefox, lately, depending on which version you use. But, but I have had no problem reading them seeing them on with Chrome.
I'm like you. I have no desire to sign up, but I do check the accounts of various people, and some sports teams.

(4,314 posts)it brings me to the sign up sheet. I use Edge, that might be the problem as there was an update about a week ago.

(32,804 posts)Although, it may actually be an issue related to a recent Windows 10 update. I don't have issues with my older laptop, although I did have them last week, until some Firefox updates cured them. On the newer machine, I have to move to Chrome if I want to read Twitter replies. Even the updates aren't helping.

(32,804 posts)Go to your browser's "Settings" page, and then go to "Cookies and site permissions." First go to "See all site data and cookies" and remove any twitter.com cookies. It's a good idea to clear your cookies periodically, anyway, so you might want to do that, rather than selectively removing them. The in the "Block" category, add "twitter.com." Blocking twitter's cookies worked in Firefox. It should do so in Edge, as well.
I read that browsing in "Incognito" mode also works.

(17,214 posts)I get MORE than enough 'TWITTER' coverage just from reading so many posts of 'Twitter' comments here!
Besides, i thing government policy should not be being posted by someone sitting in a bathroom having nothing else to do (oh, wait, that was the LAST guy.......)

(29,364 posts)I don't have followers, but I well tweet to tag elected officials or the media's attention..
We used twitter alot to tag elected officials in Washington about the Armenian Genocide Resolution...
We tag our state government when they're in session...
Twitter is good for following the National Weather Service, Local government, .Up to the minute, breaking news...but I only follow reliable sources...
Sometimes we will tag Republicans, just for the heck of it ~ like when John Cornyn tweeted a photo of a weird brisket at Christmas..LOL..The brisket did not look like a Texas brisket....
He got the idea and started referring to it as "brisketgate".

(5,520 posts)stealing and media uber marketing, I've become suspicious of folks wanting information about me. Same as those idiotic posts on FB who tell you to answer questions or resend to all your friends. Sometimes they are up to no good. That's all. Have a good one.

(5,520 posts)You post very interesting and thoughtful things here. I enjoy them. Your recent polls seemed a departure from your usual stuff. No harm thought. Don't know about you, but I'm going a bit crazy these days as Florida sinks further and further down into the muck! Enjoy the day!

(5,520 posts)Nervous these days here. Saw some family after over a year this weekend. Wonderful time! Now were counting the days to see if we're exposed and get breakthrough covid. Such is life in 2021!

(60,011 posts)Once I developed a good list of intelligent people to follow, from many varied backgrounds, and found a way to see just their tweets, skimming the site became quite easy, doesn't take much time to check it several times a day.
Number of followers isn't a big deal to me, I go strictly for the varied content.

(42,862 posts)... along with intelligent and insightful posts and replies. There are fewer restrictions and it's easier for me to be honest about politicians that I disagree with, or who are dangerous to our nation and to our party.

(42,862 posts)It's very liberating to be able to talk openly and honestly about politicians who seek to harm the Democratic party and our great nation. There are many interesting and intelligent people who post on Twitter and I enjoy reading their thoughts.

I just haven't felt compelled yet to join the commentary.
