2. Merrick Garland apparently just wants to ignore

the crimes of the Trump admin and let the Jan 6 insurrectionists off with a stern warning.

29. Gotta keep that powder dry. Hate to tie up agents in case of a bigger emergency, say,

a BLM protest.

Garland is not up to his job.

3. The FBI doesn't want to highlight

how they knew it was going to happen and just let it all go.

22. Well, isn't that the way trump likes it?

Remember the first time we started “getting to know” how he operates? When he leaned on Jim Comey to protect Flynn from being the target of an investigation, with “I hope you can just let this go.”

4. I answered in a previous post...

It’s setting the stage for putting this all behind us and moving on.

We will never see justice for The Insurrection participants…Elected or non-elected.

5. It's amazing to me that ordinary citizens on their home computers seem to be finding

most of the perpetrators of the insurrection. Take the guy yesterday who was going to plead to a piddling charge, but at the last minute the citizens produced a video of him attacking a cop so things came to a screeching halt.

17. Good point.

If it were not for these citizen sleuths, I wonder if the FBI would have more than a dozen in custody.

You can't sweep it under the rug with everyone watching.

27. Like a lot of law enforcement types, many in the FBI are Republicans.

How can you do your job if you’re aligned with one political party? And was anything ever done about the manipulation of email files by the NY FBI before the 2016 election to make it appear that they had found new emails on Weiner’s computer—a computer they had for months.

It isn’t unreasonable to suspect that the virus of extremism and conservatism is a part of the FBI.

7. I have always felt the FBI was incompetent and that's bc most of the agents are Rs

and the history of the FBI is with an R as head.

What could go wrong?????? Correction: what could go right?

30. What could go far, far right?

We need massive DoJ and FBI reform. This is a dangerous situation, being made worse every day that Trump and his cronies aren't arrested.

9. I had an opportunity to take a job with the FBI back when I was very young.

It was probably the job I should have taken right out of college, but I took the road of least resistance and grabbed the job that would pay the rent and help me sustain myself in a city away from home. Four years later I hit a crossroads. Either get the job that most interested me, or go for the Masters, and then get the job that most interested me. I did neither. Love swept me off my feet and for many reasons, I was sidelined and opted to stay home with the kids.

Now here's the thing: Decades later I realize that I dodged a bullet by not getting into any form of law enforcement as it was being practiced at the time, or as it is still being practiced today. I realize that their perspective is antiquated and their priorities are so limited as to reach the same do-nothing conclusions. Or worse, more interested in self-survival than in following the truth that would serve us all.

15. I'm beginning to think there is a strategy behind it all

If you prosecute TFG, you must find a unanimous jury. In a divided country, that's a real roll of the dice.

Also, even if you convict, you curry sympathy among his support in a divided country. That's not healing, that's not unity.

If you slow cook TFG, you make him politically unpalatable, even to a third of his base.

This is like air frying. Same result, half the calories.

As someone that dealt with the FBI on it's biggest case ever.
I can assure that the FBI is nothing more than the fixers for the well connected.

I'm all ears and eyes.

Was it Enron or related to Enron?

My first guess was the Mueller investigation, but that was allowed to poop out too.

Indict the traitors and bring them to trial. Lay it all out. Fact upon fact. Squelch the bullshit. Deal with the ugly treasonous Republican reality.

Climate change is about to make humans irrelevant and we, some of the few even paying attention, can’t decide if our noble FBI is incompetent or complicit.

Where's Eliot Ness when you need him? Is Kevin Costner available? I know Robert Stack is dead.

28. We need our law enforcement to stop confusing disloyalty with "politics".

A coup is not a legitimate political manuever under our constitution. If the federal government will not punish blatant crime and disloyalty because it was perpetrated by elected officials of one party, our system is doomed to fail.
