My electoral college projection for today: Obama 303 electoral votes.

Starting today, I will post my useless electoral college projections based on polling, demographics and electoral history. Today I predict that Barack Obama will win 303 electoral votes. Romney takes 235, picking up Indiana, North Carolina and Florida.

332 Obama, 206 Rmoney.

I think Rmoney can really only hope at this point to pick up Indiana and North Carolina, which let's face it, were pretty pink to begin with.

Are what I call "once in a landslide" states. Some people say the financial collapse of 2008 gave Obama the White House. But it was obvious to me that any competent Dem. was going to win. What the collapse did was hand Obama two typically Republican states that are very difficult under more normal circumstances.

And that demographic just hates Obama too much. I hope I am wrong, though.

Florida this summer. My time was split between Floribama in the northwest, and Tampa/St. Pete the rest of the time. Floribama felt like hostile territory, but I'm still crossing my fingers on the rest of the state going our way. I wasn't in Tampa/St. Pete in 2008 (missed it by a year, went in 2009), so I'm not sure what the level of excitement was last election.

There's oodles of fools down here - not Southerners, but transplanted NE'ers, many with civil pensions - who are in the bubble.
Add in many, many undereducated, ill-informed people who think the Mitt$ter is really the image that he is trying to pull off.
Sadly, I think FL will go to the elite party.

Come from Nebraska?

I heard they redistricted the little blue island of civility and normality from 2008 into the districts around it to turn it pink.

on my list is probably colorful Colorado.

Any ears to the ground there? Do you think we can hang on to CO, or have the savages outnumbered the responsible adults there this go around?

Romney people feel good about VA, FL, NC.

Obama people feel good about NH, NV, IA, WI, OH.

CO? Gonna be tight.
