Another attorney tried to very reasonably argue with Toobin, but the best (Toobin) could come up with was "you hate tRump."

Shove over Dersh, Rudy, Powell, and Mike Pillow - there's a new kid in town who's vying to be the ultimate self-serving sycophant. Nothing takes the publicity heat off an on-air masturbation session like a bigger scandal, e.g. a well-known author having a "come to Trump" moment.

Toobin knows that the only people who will embrace him at this point are those who think jerking-off on-camera is totally acceptable behaviour.

You have to play to whatever audience you've got left - no matter how shitty that audience may be.
