What is the likelihood that instant, real time fact checking during televised debates will become the norm?

We could then have it up on the site for people to watch at their leisure.

(109 posts)How about following Lawrence O'Donnell's suggestion: Do away with the "no notes" rule. Let the candidates each bring a binder (ahem), or a briefcase full of documents they (and we) could refer to. Or have an aide nearby handing them documents as needed. This memorization test we put them through has more to do with "American Idol" than the American presidency.
True, instant fact checking would have been sweet this year, with Romney getting the buzzer every two minutes. But a debate that showcased skillful use of facts rather than memorization and performance would give us a better look at the candidates.

Thing is, something like that would be great, but I doubt many politicians would like that.
Bill Clinton though, I think would relish something like that.
