I did a double-take in Whole Foods today. The whole range of open hot and cold food bars is back in business.

I'm in MA, where we were doing really well on Covid numbers until a new surge started creeping up last month. I think the decision to bring back the buffets must have been made during the optimistic lull.

8. I know what you mean

I know what you mean. I love to eat a salad once a day and will sometimes hit up the salad bar at my grocer. But even precovid I get upset at the lack of utensil etiquette. So with covid full on it sort of freaked me out when I saw the salad bar opened.

I started buying all the things to make my salad at home which is cheaper. But I don’t enjoy the uptick in plastic packaging fir some of the items.

2. I've heard that food is not believed to be a significant COVID vector.

Not that I dare test that theory personally...

4. I am surprised! I thought the day of the buffet was long gone in the world of COVID, but I guess

not. I'd be a little nervous in partaking some of this but the selection looks yummy...

16. Oh know. Chinese buffets are back as is Golden Corral.

I know for a fact on both. Went to both when the CDC lifted the rule on masks inside. They’ve since changed back so no more buffets for awhile.

I had to fly to covid hot spot Florida 1.5 weeks ago to be with dad at Mayo and rehab. Went to WF to load up on groceries because I didn’t want to go to restaurants while here for 2 weeks. I noticed their hot foods buffet was out. They should close it if they have not already.

Scary here, very few mask wearers and at least 1/2 that are wearing them are wearing them under their nose or under their chin.

12. I am forever done with food bars.

I never felt all that comfortable with salad bars and food bars to begin with, but the entire concept grosses me out now.

I no longer trust other people to follow the obvious “no hands” type of rules.

I just picture somebody coughing on the buffet. Covid has ruined me for mindless public gobbling.
