Gov. Kristi Noem is capturing the financial windfall of Sturgis for her state (and her presidential creds) while EXPORTING the medical, financial and death costs of this COVID super-spreading event to evey other state in the nation.

Perfect framing. SD is a breeding ground for covid. Come and spin the magazine. But your gamble costs where you end up. Send them back to Sturgis and let her deal with it.

2. Last year they did a thing with cell phone pings to show where all the attendees went after Sturgis.

They went home to states all over the nation and spread the virus with them wherever they traveled and back to where they lived.
It was the perfect storm of super spreader events.
This year will probably be worse.

But yeah, the tourists will go back to their home states. As will many of the transit workers. Watched a Doc on the event, a lot of temp employee's come up for the windfall in tips. Some take time off from there current bar job, etc....and to go back to it.
