I didn't really know enough him to dislike him until last year when he decided to have a little tournament of his own while Covid was running wild. Turns out he's also against Vaccinations, and won't say whether he's gotten one.
No class. Nothing like Roger Federer, who is able to lose with dignity, without having a tantrum.
On top of it, he screwed his mixed doubles partner out of a shot at a medal, because he's a sore loser after losing his own matches.
The media wants to focus on Simone Biles backing out, but perhaps they should spend some time discussing this douchebag instead.

(5,447 posts)Never did like his arrogance.
Ive noticed that he has been trying to improve his image a bit-
Giving his racket to boy in the stands etc.
Cant hold a candle to Fed or Rafa.
So happy for Zverev and RCB!

Came up with fake injury so he could pull out.

(34,425 posts)Sympathy for him about the doubles. His teammates tried to talk him out of signing up for the mixed before they began, and he should have listened, but he thought he could do it. I dont know who else would have had a medal chance for them. Its possible he was thinking he needed to try for his country. Its also possible he really did injure the shoulder. I didnt see NDs last two matches.
Doubles players always know that its risky if they pair up with someone likely to go deep in singles.
The weather conditions were horrible for everyone there and would have been very draining for anyone playing singles and doubles into multiple rounds.

(81,426 posts)If you are aiming to be at the top of the game, you better start learning how to deal with pressure and how to cope with those moments, on the court and off the court, Djokovic said Wednesday.
Saturday, after already losing two straight matches semifinals in singles and mixed doubles Djokovic completely melted down in the bronze-medal match. He threw his racket into the stands; he would have been ejected, or even arrested for that under different circumstances, but having no spectators in Tokyo worked to his advantage. Later he smashed his racket into the net pole during a changeover and threw the mangled piece of equipment into the photographers pit.
Nice coping skills, Djoker.

Djokovic, two days ago on Simone Biles: "Pressure is a privilege... If you are aiming to be at the top of the game you better start learning how to deal with pressure. And how to cope with those moments on the court but also off the court, all the expectations.
