She was not among the recent group that McCarthy nominated but she agreed to be on the panel earlier. She won't leave just because McCarthy said he will pull all Republicans. She already defied him.

55. Adam Kinzinger from Illinois' 16th district.

It's quite a large district, geographically, and sort of wraps itself around the collar counties of the greater Chicago area. Not quite as weirdly shaped as my district, the 6th, or the neighboring 14th, where the dynamic Lauren Underwood is from.

The redistricting from 8 or so years back made it oddly shaped.
But, I agree that there are others way more non geographically drawn.

Can we put some historians, and criminologists on the board? The people who really want to understand would like people who have studied this type of behavior to ask some questions. Also, would be nice if we have a social scientist who has a background in cult behavior.

Ignore the performance politicians, which is almost the entire Republican Party.

Pelosi's move to reject GOP picks for the 1/6 panel is going to be a gift to Kevin McCarthy in the long run.

He wanted this panel to look partisan and political. Now it's definitely going to look partisan and political.

Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts.

61. So McCarthy plans to hold his own

investigation. He's hell bent on having traitor circus performances either way, with or without Pelosi.

It is intended to not only be a counter message about Jan 6, but also a distraction from the real investigation. He will appoint committee members and choose witnesses for their maximum drama and ratings ability. They will present a counter picture of Jan 6 and probably call on TFG to speak. They will use their committee to attack and counter everything that the real committee says and does.

RW media will, of course, give them full coverage. The rest of the media should ignore McCarthy's committee as illegitimate. But they won't. They will drool over the controversy of two committees.

Republicans are setting up their own alternative government within Congress. Is there any way to stop them from doing this? Can their witnesses be arrested for the lies they will tell (after they tell them)? It isa criminal offensr to lie to Congress.
