Dems,
Expose them in your political ads.
Do we realize that most people view GOP/RW/Conservative attacks on contraception as too extreme and they tend to vote for choice?
Attack the GOP on the fact that they want to ban the PILL AND BIRTH CONTROL.
Wake up Democrats.

(10,156 posts)I have not read anything about them banning condoms or anything like that I mean I don't think they would take away a man's choice obviously...only womens choices

Why would they do this? It would be so unpopular. Even republicans want to have sex without having children.

(2,690 posts)But you cant just make an assertion about the GOP without evidence.
Of course, if the Dems wanted to make such accusations public, it would be interesting to see the Republican reaction. Do they condemn the accusation as a lie? Or do they embrace it as a good idea?

(2,403 posts)However, to the OPs point this is how the GOP would frame it if it was reversed.
I dont know if thats how we should frame it.
GOP has tried to ban contraceptives being given out at schools. I believe they have supported pharmacists declining to fill prescriptions.

(9,258 posts)Even though, of course, it isnt - these things prevent ovulation. This is the same reasoning that Hobby Lobby used to refuse to cover these things. And apparently the SC considers sincerely held belief more important than actual science. Expect to see more of this BS.

(11,845 posts)As someone who has been involved with womens reproductive freedom since the late 70s, I am here to tell you that the abolition of all types of birth control has ALWAYS been the ultimate objective of the right.
The SCOTUS will likely overturn ROE in the October session, and then it will be open season on contraception. Womens rights organizations thought that after ROE, the SCOTUS reverence and respect for settled law would protect the law, but we were wrong. We won, but the right NEVER gave up. Every time the liberal majority on the court was weakened they were further emboldened. Now the court is poised to overturn 50 years of justice and social progress. lace up your marching boots children. This is going to get very ugly.

Wanna kill wolf pups in their dens fine, sorry black people we will not count your vote, and so what Russia
installed a mentally ill crooked con man as President who killed > 750,000 Americans and then tried to over-
throw the US government.
These actions and many more are the acts of a desperate party that knows it will lose control if they allow
democracy to continue.

(216 posts)I have long said that the right to lifers will not stop with making abortion illegal. The true believers are against contraception. The Catholic Church is opposed to contraception and a significant percentage of the Republican Party is made up of conservative Catholics. It is not a long leap from anti-abortion to anti-contraception

(15,737 posts)It's the root source of what drives their policies.
Food stamps? Against it. Already too many lazy people enjoying themselves all the time to go find a job.
Unemployment insurance? Against it. Already too many lazy people enjoying themselves all the time to go find a job.
Aid to families? Against it. Already too many lazy people enjoying themselves all the time and having babies.
Sex education in the classroom? Against it. It only encourages kids to enjoy themselves all the time.
Pro-choice legislation? Against it. Already too many lazy people enjoying themselves and they need to be punished and bear the consequences.
Foreign aid? Against it. Too many lazy foreigners would just enjoy themselves and have more babies and then immigrate illegally to the US.
And on and on and on...
You hear it from the podia, you hear it from the pulpits. With Republicans, it's always about sex.

(94,489 posts)No, they don't.
This is a critical point. Yes, most voters support choice, both for contraception and abortion. The problem is that they don't care ENOUGH in comparison to anti-choice voters. There are plenty of Republicans who will vote EXCLUSiVELY on abortion et al. The reverse does not apply to Democrats
