Many rural counties have only about 25% to 30% of their population vaccinated

Was just clicking around on different counties in NM and those super rural counties along the Texas border have very low vaccination rates. For example Roosevelt county is at 26% even though more populated counties like Bernalillo, Sante Fe, Taos etc. have from 60 to 70% vaccinated.

Sadly, these rural areas are going to get decimated this fall. I imagine it's similar in many other states.

11. What about actual numbers though?

Percentages can be misleading. while Trump got 62% of the vote in my home county, the actual number of votes he got here was 1/100th of the vote he got in Wayne County (Detroit).

200,000 unvaccinated people in a urban county which has a vaccination rate of 70% is more of a threat then 2000 unvaccinated people in a county where the vaccinated rate is 30%.

What am I supposed to do about it? I’ve pretty much given up on the American people. There is no way to get through to the ignorant SOB’s. Have to hope for the best. I did my part by getting vaccinated. And I plan on wearing a mask for months to come.

that they incorrectly think that being rural protects them, that the virus can't get to them.

They are so wrong.

about how the rural counties have barely gotten Covid. He is not a Fox watcher, but he's not at all good about double checking things, and all too often passes on unverified crap.

What I've learned over the years is to question EVERYTHING. Lots of times I see something posted as fact, and I check it out on line. Much of the time the posting is pure bullshit. Sometimes it is accurate. Questioning and checking out are the two most important things to do.
