The biggest misconceptions/lies Obama simply MUST clear up tonight.

$716 billion is *NOT* being taken from Medicare to "pay for" Obamacare. The medical care that seniors get will stay the same - doctors, hopsitals and insurers agree on this. The Repugs are LYING to scare you seniors. (I think this lie is the main reason Florida is now a tossup, and if this Repug lie can be cleared up, Florida should easily go back into the Obama column.)

Anyway, that's #1 on my list. Feel free to add to it!

1. I'm pretty sure Obama did make that clear that in the first debate.

But Rmoney kept repeating the lie anyway.

12. Obama has never explained it in really clear terms with examples

and concrete information.

We seniors have been through a lot of administrations and fed a lot of bunk by one after the other. I believe Obama -- but on faith, not because I really understand what the vague descriptions of what is happening will mean to me.

Do I lose my Kaiser Medicare Advantage? Will it cost me more?

Because that would be a shame since I love my no-frills but really great Kaiser Senior Advantage plan. It has to be cheaper, not more expensive than the ordinary Medicare plan. So we seniors deserve to be told in clear terms what is changing in the funding of Medicare.

2. He needs to turn it back on the Pukes by calling it trimmed waste, abuse, and fraud.

They are always claimed to be for reducing that.

Explain what it is and then ask R$mney if he against reducing waste?

3. they got that lie straight from Limbaugh's drug addled rants- easily cleared up by functioning media

The media is supposed to explain that this is a load of crap.

If they aren't doing any research or reporting on facts, what IS the media doing?

Obama will hopefully explain this succinctly...and the media will probably be insulted by the color of his tie.

9. why do we allow that? Why dp we allow them to brainwash millions of Americans on our public airwaves

Why do people here believe them when they say Obama lost, why do they believe the polls that say Romney is winning?

First we need to stop believing them ourselves.

Then we stand up to the lying media bastards.

Stop allowing them to lie to millions of fellow Americans that do not know better.

Bombard them with the truth.

Surround the stations and demand they tell the truth.

They are ruining our country and they need to be stopped.

7. The problem with these lists

And I get that it's good to get around a common theme - really I do.

But it's not going to be read by anyone other than folks at DU. At this late in the game - if it's not something that an attendee at the town hall asks President Obama or Mitt Romney to clarify/speak to - it's off the table.

8. Not true - good politicians should be able to find opportune moments to add things they want to say.

It would be smart for Obama to come armed with about five or six one-liners to clear up these lies, and to try to use them when he can. Even if he doesn't get to dispel all the lies, he needs to be able to do so quickly and effectively.

No one on the Obama campaign is probably reading through DU to see how we want them to handle this. . . And I think his campaign probably has an arsenal of things to hit Romney with.

And even WHEN he does - it won't matter. Rmoney will still be declared the winner by 80% of the pundits.

11. That it is Obama NOT Mitt or Republicans who have worked in a bi-partisan manner..
Tue Oct 16, 2012, 01:49 PM
Oct 2012

Mitt: more than 800 vetoes as governor, most of them overturned
Obama: 2 vetoes
Republicans in Congress: 234 fillibusters

The narrative they are trying to sell is that Obama refused to work with Republicans and that Mitt will bring everyone together to get things done.
