1. On Wednesday and yesterday during our morning walk

we heard the most noise ever from crickets. In 39 years I have never heard them that loud.
I mentioned the cicada problem in the US om Wednesday. It was really odd.

I never had a mosquito bite here, ever, until 2 summers ago and they are back this year too.

Don't know if it's the climate change or what but man mosquito bites itch like he*l. nothing stops the itch. I've tried every itch cream and remedy out there.

This brood seems like smaller cicadas than some other recent ones; maybe half the size.

They're sort of loud, but not all that many of them yet. Usually they ramp up when it gets hotter.

But when they do, look out ear drums. It makes me think of my childhood when we’d play out side until dark. When the cicadas started their nightly concert, we knew it wouldn’t be long until we had to go inside, get a bath and get ready for bed.
