(25,921 posts)When I was young, however, I found a single hair that stood out, as it was as red as a fox. I pulled it and it didnt grow back red. Genes! Go figure.

(12,904 posts)Straight, thick, and shiny. The color of 24 karat gold. People used to accuse me of dying my childs hair. I would have to show them her baby pictures. My daughter and her five year old girl have it almost down to their butt, and the two year old, with the same color, is shoulder length.
Her three year old girl has long shiny blond hair with the same texture.

(12,904 posts)It rains here everyday. I have thick, coarse, brown hair, that acts like a sponge in humidity.
Other day, the five year old told me I have clown hair. She wasnt wrong.

(2,220 posts)Then it turned blonde when I was a toddler. By the time I was in first grade, I was a redhead, and I stayed that way until I was in sixth grade, when it browned out a little, but I still had lots of red and blonde highlights. Then, when I was in eighth grade, I started going grey. By the time I was 30, I was grey enough that I started coloring my hair. My stylist concocted the perfect red from childhood pictures, and I went with that till I was around 50 when the grey was so prevalent that I was getting pink roots. We toned it down to a soft brown with copper highlights, as red as we could get without the pink roots. I stopped coloring my hair in December 2019 after having colored it literally half of my life. Now I have amazing, tricolor (white, silver, and dark grey) hair, and I love it.
But Ill always be a redhead at heart.

(50,250 posts)shade only I used multiple packages of the stuff at once to get a good color and it pretty much dyed it. My father was furious. I think I got grounded for it.

(7,272 posts)not exactly grey like me, but she was a "strawberry blond" since the day she was born. but now she's turning 50, and that strawberry blond has turned whitish. not blond...
I didn't know there was a thing as a red head day til now. So I'll send her this wish..
