Although, I have to admit, I am better looking.

The only way the studio could shift away from Connery was to use Roger Moore, since he was The Saint.
Even then, his comedic sense in the movies wasn't well received when Live and Let Die debuted.

(11,404 posts)It wasn't the audience, it was Lazenby himself. He pulled the plug on his own career. There's a lot that has been written about it, but basically, Lazenby felt the movies were formulaic and he didn't want to be part of it.
So, the Broccolis lured Connery back for Diamonds are Forever while they looked for a replacement (Moore).

(11,949 posts)I bought some killer suits in China and the wife does likes when we go places I can wear them. Losing 35lbs during Covid helps. I had to have the clothes tailored.
One of the reasons I like going to France is I dont feel out of place in restaurant wearing a jacket and wool slacks. And I swear I get better treatment, although speaking a bit of Louisiana French may help! Our waiters are always spoken to in their language, no matter how poorly spoken!
Which is crazy. Because I live and fish in Florida. My daily attire is board shorts and t-shirts.
And while I think Im good looking, except for Connery I cant compare. But his charisma was off the charts.

(67,915 posts)I'm very liberal, and like you, have some killer suits. I love tailored clothing. I love dressing up and going out for the night. I love walking into a room and being the best-dressed guy there.
I went to the birthday party of a family member today (everyone had been vaccinated). First time out in a year. With my outfit, I wore a nice pair of navy blue Zanzara oxfords, and a woman at the party noticed them and told me she like them. I told her I have two more pairs of them in black and in light brown. We talked about shoes for the next five minutes or so.

(11,949 posts)Ive got tons of compliments on them. But Im guessing Im more fuddy duddy than you. Definitely less stylish than what you are sporting!
But works for me.
Im the rare man that likes dressing nice. I think professional looks lend to professional behavior. Archaic I realized. But its what I like.
Of course as a hard core angler who spend time on the boat and in breweries I seldom get to dress up.
But I like it when I do get to look my best. As does much wife Ive been with for over 30 years

(17,757 posts)My hair got me through the hard times in my life. It started retiring a little before I did. I have got a bald spot, but I can't see it, so it is fine. I have not obsessed over the signs of aging, I am just proud to have gotten this far.
