Many GOP politicians cannot believe that the Party lost.

I understand that. They cheat so much, and at every level, so they cannot believe that all of that cheating and voter suppression and purging of voters did not result in a victory for Trump.

5. 2022 will be much worse...

Plus the dismal turnout by dems at midterms

That must be turned around

6. Dems did very well in the 2018 midterms

For a change. Hopefully 2022 will be a repeat. I am confident that voter suppression efforts will backfire badly on Repukes.

15. Mid term with an R POTUS vs with a D POTUS

Ws second mid term was a REALLY big win for the Ds, leading up BHO's election two years later.

The problem is that in my life Ds have ALWAYS left D POTUS hanging in their mid terms.

That is why people are just assuming 2020 is going to be a big R day.

7. Cheating

There's an old saying in the world of motor racing. You must be cheating, because I'm cheating and you beat me.

8. Moreover, they cheat so much they think that's the only way anyone wins. The idea the that people

play by the rules and dedicate their lives to the public good is simply outside their epistemological purview.

9. If there was ever a 2 year lead-in to the midterms to excite Democrats,

how can it not be this one? If voters can't ride a President's coattails into the voting booth the way this President has stormed out of the gate...

11. Remember reading...

...that some GOP think the recent legislation to suppress voters might backfire. And I hope it does.

They are concerned that unenrolling voters, forcing long wait times, making it harder to vote by mail, etc. could possibly stifle rural voters and older voters from voting.

12. I respectfully disagree. The real answer is so much worse than that.

Adam Kiinzinger said only about 5 republicans in the House believe there was fraud. So, over 200 of them agree Biden won fair and square and they are all knowing lying.

Think about this week's GOP back benchers in the House saying January 6 was no biggie. Just like a regular tourist day. That was orchestrated. Why pick three people the vast majority of us have never heard of? Why now when we are trying to set up a committee to investigate? My suspicion is someone in leadership said "lets drop a second big lie so when we get to the committee we can object to calling any witnesses since it was just like a regular tourist day. We ca then claim 'so many people think January 6 was just like any other tourist day and gum up the works." But they didn't want to send out big names in case the second big lie failed to gain traction.

I hate to say it but this is so like Hitler. Tell a big lie enough times and people believe you. Remember Rove "we make the reality"? We're through that looking glass.

But I just don't get how hundreds of elected officials KNOW it is not true and still fire Cheney. 1984. We should send them all brown shirts.

16. I don't agree with Kinzinger

it is 50 / 50 at best.

Yes, a lot do know Biden won, but there are at least as many who have drank the Kool-Aid so deeply they believe it was stolen, too.

That said, you are right generally about what you posted.

17. Perhaps if they developed actual "ideas..."

Republicans have no platform and no ideas, other than blind loyalty to the personality cult of their neo-fascist leader Trump, who they are deathly afraid of. False bravado only gets you so far in life...

19. For more than a generation, they've been convincing themselves they are the "majority"...

They went from a "Silent Majority" to a "Moral Majority" to whatever they call themselves now.

Truth is, they have never been in the majority, and damn how I wish they would shut the fuck up and show some morals, but they've fallen for their own propaganda.

24. Yes, this framing is key.

Many, perhaps most, feel that they are the majority.

A corollary to that is if the GOP loses, it is due to cheating by the Democrats.
