This guy was actually arrested for crossing a police line on Jan. 5 and was released. He then stormed the Capitol the very next day and then lied to the FBI when they interviewed him.

@seditiontrack
He texted a friend "I was one of the people that helped storm the capitol building and smash out the windows."

The FBI also recovered a whole bunch of images that he thought he had deleted from his phone. Oops.

Sedition Track
@seditiontrack
Another person who admitted to being in the Capitol "for a few minutes before leaving." Too bad for him the Capitol was closed to visitors. #SeditionHasConsequences #SeditionTrack

Meet Landon Copeland who admitted to the FBI that he fought with the police but is still telling his friends on Facebook that it was a peaceful protest.

@seditiontrack
This photo was taken before 1/6 so you can all stop trying to ID him now. He's probably already dead anyways. Feel free to imagine your own backstory on how that happened.

It’s pretty clear that the FBI went with the rare undercover route here because federal cases built on facial recognition hits are relatively novel. And ultimately it was the comments the UCEs solicited that resulted in the judge’s decision on detention. https://huffpost.com/entry/facial-recognition-capitol-defendants_n_607f34c0e4b0df3610c17614

Also, a federal grand jury has now indicted Randolph alongside Paul Russell Johnson. https://justice.gov/usao-dc/case-multi-defendant/file/1390826/download

Randolph’s conduct, the judge wrote “shocks the conscious.” After Randolph knocked over the Capitol Police officer and caused her to hit her head on a metal stair handrail, he went on to assault more officers and left her an “unconscious heap on the ground.”

If we're being honest here I doubt the judge even needed to consider anything beyond the fact that the suspect likes to dress up like Hitler.

Alan Feuer

Replying to @alanfeuer
The judge in Hale-Cusanelli's case, Trevor McFadden, ordered him to remain in custody meanwhile, ruling that his actions on 1/6, plus his virulently racist views (and some actions) merited detention.

Kyle Cheney
@kyledcheney
Prosecutors are seeking to detain a Jan. 6 riot suspect who sought to avoid arrest for 20 days — moving out of his Texas home, couch hopping at friends' in North Carolina, turning off his cell phone and repeatedly lying about his whereabouts.

And apparently, one of his friends impersonated a law enforcement officer to ask U.S. marshalls about his case. >>>

Ahh, the good old days. School wasn't that hard, they could bully kids at recess, a 6th grade girl once smiled at them, they were half decent on the ball team.

Then life got tough, all the kids who studied harder passed them in school, all the kids who practiced harder passed them in sports. And they have been looking for someone to blame ever since for their failures in life.

I'm sure Trump will be charged with some crimes, mainly from Georgia and New York but I don't expect a Federal charge for instigating sedition.

The only actual evidence I'm aware of was his speech before sending them off and that can be interpreted in a non-criminal way so he won't be brought to trial.
He is being charged by some Capitol police and we will see how those go but they are seeking monetary damages, not criminal imprisonment.

Trump is expert at not leaving hard evidence that implicates him directly in any crimes. He gets flunkies to do the dirty work and orders them in an indirect way so he can always claim they misinterpreted him.

---- Note: I sure hope I'm wrong about all this. It would be soothing salve to see Trump swallowed up by a federal prison, never to be seen or heard from again.
