Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Vote for Trump, Blames 'Stupid Mistake' on 'Too Much Propaganda'

A 70-year-old man from Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to casting an illegal ballot for former President Donald Trump during the 2020 election and was sentenced to five years of probation on Friday.

Bruce Bartman, of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, admitted to casting the illegal vote in his dead mother's name and told a court Friday that it was a "stupid mistake."

"I was isolated last year in lockdown," Bartman said to Common Pleas Court Judge George Pagano, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I listened to too much propaganda and made a stupid mistake."

Bartman pleaded guilty to two felony counts of perjury and one count of unlawful voting after investigators discovered that he used the driver's license of his dead mother to register her to vote online, and filled out an absentee ballot in her name.

Why do Republicans feel voter fraud is a problem? Because they are the ones participating in it

Texas woman sentenced to 5 years in prison for voting while on probation

If she had known it was illegal, Crystal Mason said she would have never cast a vote in the 2016 presidential election.

The 43-year-old former tax preparer hadn’t even planned on voting until her mother encouraged her to do it. She had only recently been released from federal prison for a 2012 tax fraud conviction, in which she pleaded guilty to inflating returns for her clients, her attorney, J. Warren St. John, told The Washington Post.

She was still on community supervision at the time of the election — but no one, including her probation officer, St. John said, ever told her that being a felon on supervision meant she couldn’t vote under Texas law.

Now, she’s going back to prison for casting a ballot illegally — for five years.

Mason was indicted on a charge of illegal voting in Tarrant County, Tex., last year and found guilty by State District Judge Ruben Gonzalez on Thursday, despite her protestations that she simply was not aware that she was barred from casting a ballot and never would have done it had she known.

She got a small fine and two years probation. She thought he first vote would be changed to Hillary. Not sure who she thought was going to do that.

In 2018, Crystal Mason was sentenced to five-years for voting in the 2016 election.

Mason had no idea she was not allowed to vote in 2016 when she cast her provisional ballot due to the fact that she was on federally supervised release Note: provisional ballot. Probably not even counted.

The white guy who knew that what he was doing was wrong but did it anyway gets off entirely because he was “confused “ by right wingers who told him to do what he did.

Seems fair, right?

It behoves on each single one of us to look at the information given to us, and decide which parts are true, which are straight out lies, and which are somewhere in the middle.

If you can't do that, just turn Fox off . . .

At what stage though, did this fine gentleman decide that the information he subjected himself to, went from 'Trump and Fox tell it as it is' to 'propaganda'?

Around the time he got in trouble for the extra vote, I think.

+1 for the voting system that can pick up on deviant naughtiness like this though.

So is he gonna stop watching FOXHenhouse and ONAN?

Rhetorical question--of course he's not.

When FOXNotNews first crawled out of the toilet, back when it's tagline was "We report. You decide" (long before it was "We're just entertainment, your honor, no sane person would ever take what we say seriously!" ) and rational people were pointing out that they were lying 24/7, one of the early cultists was seen on teevee bellowing, "I don't care if it's true or not, they tell me what I want to hear."

Rest assured, the Bartman was telling himself the same thing right up to the point he got busted.

He deliberately played stupid games of his own free will; it would be unfair not to award him stupid prizes. Let him, at the very least, serve the same sentence as a black woman who violated voting laws unintentionally.
