And frankly "Big Ed" is not only Ed but an entire production crew and research crew and they must have gotten wind that this is an amazing story. It promises to be quite the deal.

My favorite Ed line, which I still steal with great frequency,

"We got to stop bringing our library books to rock fights,"

A couple of segments he did then:

The Ed Show | Aired on July 19, 2012

Romney's outsourcing problem mounts

Mitt Romney's outsourcing problem is growing and the story of the Sensata Technologies is a model for what a Romney economy could be. Teamsters' James Hoffa joins Ed Schultz to discuss Romney’s record and more.

We needed a blue collar voice that could make a convincing tough argument while also possessing a big heart. Ed Schultz has a great way of summarizing Democratic ideas for the centrists in the country and that's crucial given the stereotypes and insults that Right Wingers often try to paint us with. Patriotism has often been the domain only of the Right Wing broadcasters but Schultz knows how to point out better than most what's unpatriotic about some of the things the Right do and believe.

With the Right going further and further right all the time Ed Schultz is the perfect guy to help connect and find the common ground between academic leftists, idealistic, generous centrists with human rights concerns and environmental concerns, and blue collar union workers. There aren't many broadcasters who have the ability to reach out to all those key Democratic pillars with a segment but Schultz has that ability.

Glad MSNBC hired him. I think he's going to be an important voice for a long time.
