(1,784 posts)Ive tried to walk away from mentally ill people on the street. Usually thats whos going on like this to me. Its easier said than done and will often as not result in them being more confrontational. Most of the time, you just have to wait until they run down and fixate on somebody else, which they will if youre quiet.
Life Pro Tip: Masks are great for not letting them see Im gritting my teeth whilst listening, and sunglasses will let you actually take a nap while this is going on.

(16,820 posts)I really couldn't even understand anything the guy was saying. Isn't it possible Yang was just laughing along with him and not really getting it? People do that all the time just to be nice.

(36,751 posts)Kamala got a lot of attention for wearing Timbs and Converse. I'm sure Yang knows what it means. As to the rest, puhlease.

seems like a politician trying to hang with the cool people and being a little over his head, whoever the crude kid is needs to be the focus of whatever outrage is going on since he is the one saying this shit.

(12,013 posts)And Andrew has been a rock in standing by her. I think he didn't realize what the guy was saying, and when he finally picked up on it, tried to end the conversation.
This attack on him is just pitiful.
"I needed to share it at that moment because it felt so big to me and I needed that support. And I told him, and he cried," Evelyn Yang said.
He told her he remembered her coming home one day ranting about how men should never be allowed to be OB-GYNs.
"He remembered that I had made this comment and he felt so bad. He felt guilty that he didn't make the connection or ask me more," she said. "He felt terrible for me, and I think that's what I was trying to prevent by not telling him in the first place."
In a statement Thursday, Andrew Yang said his "heart breaks" when he thinks about it.

Andrew Yang is not trump
Your first clue on this being a smear piece shouldve been her using term tech bro...because hes never worked in tech, studied tech, or lived in SV. But all Asian men are tech bros, right?

(36,751 posts)She was also called a feminazi, so there's that. Rush would be proud.
No one said he was like Trump. Also, she never wrote "tech bro" (that fuck up is on The Daily Beast... the Daily Beast article didn't even use that terminology).
Here is the original article that The Daily Beast linked to:
Allison Groves was a career political organizer when she joined Andrew Yang's 2020 presidential campaign.
Groves uprooted her life in California and moved to Davenport, Iowa, to start a job as a regional organizing director on Yang's team in August 2019. Yang was one of the earliest people to declare a 2020 presidential run, and he is now running for mayor of New York City. Back then, however, he opened multiple offices in the key battleground states and hosted several events, including bus tours, town halls, and a "Yangapalooza" concert in his bid for the White House.
Groves who had worked on campaigns and political committees since at least 2010 told Insider she only moved to Iowa for Yang's campaign. Otherwise, "there's nothing in Iowa," she said. "And all of us had come from states that are like California or New York."
In Iowa, though, her career prospects seemed bright. Nick Ryan, who at the time was Yang's campaign chief, promised Groves she'd be promoted to deputy director, she said. That role came with broader control over the campaign's Iowa strategy.
But she found out in a team meeting that the promotion went to a male staffer who was about half her age, she said. Groves said she didn't even have the opportunity to apply for it.
