I might vote against George Gason if his recall makes the ballot

I understand what he is trying to do in Los Angeles County and support some of it but I have a major problem with a blanket ban on filing sentencing enhancements. What is the use of passing stronger gun control laws that include enhancements if they are never used? Then there is the problem with not filing hate crime enhancements, with everything going on in the U.S. right now I think we need to take a harsher stance against people who engage in hate crimes, not reduce the penalties they can face.

Something that only might fit the crime. Ending sentencing enhancements forces prosecutors to work a little harder at holding people accountable, but it doesn't prevent them from doing so.

2. Sentencing enahncements are one type of gun control we can implment

If people are going to use guns while committing crimes I don't have any sympathy for them, people who commit hate crimes are despicable and deserve a harsher sentence. We as a society have decided that when these conditions are met during the course of a crime the penalties should be stiffer, Gascon is going against the will of the people and the people can hold him responsible. The firearms enhancement law was passed by democrat lawmakers and signed by Governor Newsom, the hate crimes enhancement law was passed by democrat lawmakers and signed by Governor Brown it isn't the place of a county D.A. to nullify those laws.
