The belief in a meta-physical origin of good and evil is why I abandoned Christianity long ago ( that was the only organized religion that I knew of at that time, others are just as bad).

After seeing so-called people of faith doing awful shit, I abandoned organized religion and sought a true understanding of why we are here and on issues like good and evil. We create our own good or evil, those outcomes are functions of our hearts, in every decision that we make, we have a choice to do good or evil. There is no meta-physical origin, that just exists in some people’s heads.

8. My sister and bil never wore seatbelts until they got pulled over and fined for it.

Of course, they thought the whole thing was terribly unfair.

In this state, we have a slogan: "Click it or ticket." Seatbelts have been required by law for years, but you didn't get ticketed just for that. Not unless you were pulled over for something else and caught beltless. Then they changed the law so that the cops can pull you over and write you a ticket just for not wearing your seatbelt. And by golly, it works.

...the law went into effect middle of 1985.
They started enforcing immediately. More people were pulled over (in municipalities, not expressways) for that than speeding & rolling stops combined.
There was controversy around 30 years ago that cops were using it as an excuse to pull over minorities for no other reason. "Suspicion" of not wearing a seatbelt.
Every 5 years or so, they hammer PSAs and highway signs with the "Click it..." message.
I personally know nobody who doesn't wear the belt. After 36 years, I guess that's to be expected.
