Current state of the race: It is what it is.
We can't close our eyes and pretend the race isn't close now because it is. Rmoney bullied and lied his way though the first debate and got enough Republicans ginned up to make the race close. But it's not the first time an incumbent was bushwhacked. It happened to Reagan in 1984 and Bush in 2004. It's incumbent upon us to calm down and do what needs to be done on the ground. And the president needs to pound Romney to the ground between now and Election Day. Closing our eyes and holding our hands to our ears will not reverse the current trend, but hard work will.
