A question about c-19 shot

After many times trying, I am scheduled for my first Moderna shot tomorrow. I have lab work at 9:00 n then my first shot at 2:00. I have been on thyroid meds for 30 plus years but feel I’ve done my homework about that. Any friends here with the same apprehensive feelings and how are ya doing. Low thyroid but have it under control. I’m happy to finally get my appt but just wondering how others fared. Aggg..I say apprehensive but really I’m good..ya know.. the unknown n all..🤗

1. It was a non-event for me

I have MS and was scared to death!

I had the Moderna shot and ... nothing happened!

The shot was three days ago.

Try not to worry.

That is my advice!

Take care ok?

2. I had Pfizer, 1st shot nothing at all, 2nd shot arm soreness. Nothing else.

On the other hand, I have watched patients die, holding their hands because family could not. I'm so glad you are getting your shot. You will feel so free and relieved a couple of weeks after that second shot. Good job. You are protecting yourself and others.

Walk in the park with Moderna, wife does thyroid also and not a problem. If I had not actually seen the needle penetrate I would not have known I got the shot, next day slight tenderness at locale but nothing else

6. I'm low thyroid, have been on meds since the '90s

And I got my first Moderna shot earlier this month and all I experienced was a slightly sore arm for the rest of the day. I'm scheduled for shot #2 next week. No worries.

7. I had a slightly sore arm after my first Moderna shot.

It went away after 24 hours or so. I haven't got the second shot yet.

8. Did your doctor give you the "green light" for it?

If so, don’t worry.

It’s better than ending up in an ICU on a ventilator. Right?

9. Q re:Is it safe to have the vaccine with a thyroid condition?

● The vaccines in current use have been tested and approved in the US by the
FDA. Clinical trials have included thousands of patients, some of whom have
had thyroid conditions. Currently there is no evidence that having thyroid
disease makes you at higher risk for vaccine-related problems.

12. My mother had her thyroid taken out almost 15 years ago

Has been in synthroid since, had round 1 and 2 of Pfizer with no complications at all. Was a little tired after the first one, but she had to get up at 630am to get to the clinic by 930. Nothing at all after the second.
