I know I'm beating this to death but I find it hard to believe that Cuomo...
would reach into a woman's blouse and fondle her breast as the most recent accuser claimed. With the me_too movement so recent and the forcing out of Al Franken, I just don't think he'd be that dumb.
I could be wrong, but I still say investigate, investigate, investigate and let the chips fall where they may. If the allegations are proven, he must go. If not proven he survives like Joe Biden did against Tara Reade's lies. Due process, no resignation. Complete the investigation. Have we learned nothing from the Al Franken force out?

Also how the story comes full circle. It was interesting that DeNiro's character opposes his son dating a Black young woman and Palminteri's character essentially says love is love.

There is motive to lie when it comes to them, too. Yes, I know the accusers are Democrats, but that alone doesn't mean they aren't in on something.
The ones who get away with it are the ones who are powerful within a company but not in public office or the public eye. |

92. Oh well let's see, Unknown person accuses Cuomo
of sexual assault (much different from his previous accusers of harassment), never reported it and now coming forward. It has earmarks of Biden's accuser. Trump happens to be in the city right before this accusation comes out and Trump needs Cuomo out of the way, hoping for someone who he can get a pardon from or just wants to destroy him. I am not saying that is what happened, I am just saying that is where my mind went.

the investigation boils down to she said/he said? That's very likely what the result will be.
With multiple accusers and a picture of him with his hands on a woman's face, I'm convinced. Some men think they're entitled to do things like that...it's no big deal. They also think they won't get caught. Plus, he was abusive of his staff in non-sexual ways. He obviously felt his power of them gave him permission to act out. This is not Al Franken. After that shit with Al Franken I am so untrustworthy when someone comes up with something about one of our Democratic politicians.
The fact that they called and are still calling Biden a pedophile still irks me and makes me not want to believe anyone that is connected the GOP. 15. Why?
Powerful people, especially men, think that nothing they do is wrong. I don't care what YOU know is wrong, they don't see it that way. Maybe some of the accusations are being embellished. I can accept that. But I also know that underlying it is the sense that it will be accepted because of the larger behavior.
Obama never had any of these problems because there was never any belief that he'd do it, much less get away with it. (Michelle woulda killed him). Cuomo on the other hand has the problem that it is believable, in the larger knowledge of who he is. Does that mean that every accusation is true? No. Franken's problems was that because of his former occupation and behavior as a comedian, the accusations could be seen as valid. Heck, they had photos. Does that mean he did anything wrong? No. Cuomo on the other hand should have known better and if 1/3 of it is anywhere close to "true", what the heck was he thinking? |

While I appreciated his frank discussions and presentations, it was telling that it was him, instead of the experts that were advising him. Look at the comparison with Biden's efforts here, with his subordinates with expertise giving the daily/weekly briefings. It speaks to his hubris and sense of authority.

103. It was telling.
I often had to present the work of subordinates to our customers. I did it for one of two reason, both with having to do with "control". Either I didn't have confidence in a subordinates ability to communicate effectively with the customer, or it was part of a larger message of combined message of several disciplines. Either way, I wanted to be the communicator. There's an underlying hubris in that.

And Obama was "powerful" at least as far the the US Constitution provides. And there were many like him. |

20. The groping allegation was reported to the Albany police by Cuomo's attorney
The Governor wants a police investigation.
Governor's Counsel Says Groping Allegation Against Cuomo Reported to Albany Police
A groping allegation against Governor Andrew Cuomo has been referred to the Albany Police Department, according to state officials. The allegation was reported to police by the governor’s acting counsel, Beth Garvey, after the woman involved declined to make the report herself. “As a matter of state policy when allegations of physical contact are made, the agency informs the complainant that they should contact their local police department,” Garvey wrote in a statement. "If they decline, the agency has an obligation to reach out themselves and inform the department of the allegation. “In this case the person is represented by counsel and when counsel confirmed the client did not want to make a report, the state notified the police department and gave them the attorney’s information.“ snip============================================================================================= There is an ongoing attorney general investigation into the sexual harassment allegations, and the most recent case would likely fall under its broad scope.
However, if the investigation finds any criminal wrongdoing, the attorney general would either have to request permission from the legislature to pursue criminal charges or it would have to refer the case to the local district attorney’s office. In this case it would most likely fall under the jurisdiction of Albany County District Attorney David Soares since the alleged incident took place at the Executive Mansion in Albany. A report would first have to be made by the woman herself, before an investigation could be launched through the Albany County district attorney’s office. https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2021/03/11/cuomo-groping-allegation-reported-to-albany-police- |

24. The media's double standards are sickening.
Was watching MTP Sunday ... on the roundtable they were very negative about Cuomo, and one Repub woman even called him a sex pest and said we must have decency in gov't. Said nothing about Trump's lifetime of accusations against him, none of them iirc brought it up, making it look like Dems were the more unethical party.
The AG needs to investigate this issue. But it does seem suspicious that nothing has ever come out about Cuomo (aside from him being perceived as a bully, which I don't agree with as he's mild mannered for NY politics which are hardball) but suddenly when political rivals on both the right and left want his governors seat (election coming up in 2022) the knives come out. Just feels similar to the way a parade of women suddenly emerged against Biden in the primaries when all his life he had no accusations. Feels very swiftboat-y. |

Trump had accusers from everywhere he went. All his accusers had diverse backgrounds and he harassed them where he encountered them. Cuomo is all staffers. I got suspicious when I first saw who wanted him investigated. edit—and the timing of this pile-on with an upcoming election. |

to really go for the knock out punch. It feels like the Tara Reid/Roger Stone playbook.
AG must investigate. However, it is very curious that Cuomo could spend a generation in NY politics, that he would be doing this - and it wouldn't have spilled to the media and/or been used against him earlier? The idea that he was this all powerful man is false. His father had been defeated by Pataki and the 'Cuomo name' was no longer in vogue. He had even declined to run for governor at one point, iirc 2006. One could argue he only became governor due to the downfall of Spitzer (prostitution scandal), which left the NY Dems in dissaray and created the opening for Cuomo to run. |

They were all watching it, together, when this woman became emotional. At least one of the supervisors there (reports imply there may have been more than one) spoke to her then and heard this woman's allegation, and reported it.
What made the woman react? The Governor's claim that he had never acted inappropriately with a woman. And, no, she won't be forced to talk to the police. That's not how it works. |

We're left considering Cuomo, and what he said, versus the women, and what they said. 166. Please do your research...
Ruch was so distraught that she then asked for a photo with cuomo after the fact..then he walked away he didn't pursue her or try talking to her...she then realized she was so angry wanted him to apologize and sought him out but couldn't find him...then said she had no way of getting in touch with him to demand that apology...accept she worked for Obama and Biden so IF she really wanted to get in touch with cuomo she could've figured out a way to

168. Women who have been harassed often have confused feelings, to the point they discount
what happened and even blame themselves. And some people, especially introverts, are USUALLY processors, not really reacting to things in the moment, but in a kind of delayed reaction.
I don't think there was anything odd in her reaction. She was in a state of mild shock when it happened, and as time went on, an understanding of the inappropriateness of what he had done reached her brain. And yet, there is that photo. And that fake smile of hers, that stiff way she's holding her head, says it all. That, and Cuomo's smirk. |

You are kidding right? Hinton felt so uncomfortable with cuomo that she returned to work for him later on..I am sure that will be of interest to the investigators..how can that not be? She had a choice to return to work for him, no one forced her to...you are ready to convict without an investigation unfortunately for your willingness to prematurely convict...it's a two way street and questions on all sides will have to be answered...why are you afraid having the investigation play out...if it determines he did something illegal he will have to go..but he also has a right to defend himself

157. It has to do with her motivation, which you have questioned.
I just explained why she might go to work for him again. Though his behavior was inappropriate, it could have been WORSE with someone else. How would she know? Or maybe Cuomo's job offered better pay and more responsibility. There are many possible reasons for a woman to take a job with a less than wonderful boss.
Women often have to make these kind of trade-offs. It's not unusual. P.S. Ever hear of Anita Hill? One of the Republican slams against her credibility was that she had followed Clarence Thomas to another job. That was almost exactly the same situation. At that time, most Democrats seemed to understand her point of view. Things seemed to have changed when a Democrat is accused. |

I want the stronger candidate to go against the R in 2022, and that will not be the person who fudged the Covid data and has been accused by multiple staffers of harassing them. 165. By your logic, she should never have taken another job with him. No one forced her to.
But she obviously took it for the reason Cuomo's staffer did. She weighed the variables and decided it was the best she could do.
I don't have to be from NY to know that Cuomo's been making a lot of enemies there, including among the Democrats. Have you been paying attention to the legislature there? They're not running to his defense. The Democrats are leading an effort to impeach him. 40% of the Dems signed a statement asking him to resign. That's a lot of support for someone to lose who's hoping for a 4th term. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/11/nyregion/cuomo-resign-sexual-harassment.html “The reports of accusations concerning the governor are serious,” the Assembly speaker, Carl E. Heastie, a Democrat, said in a statement, adding that the “impeachment investigation” will encompass interviewing witnesses, subpoenaing documents and evaluating evidence. The announcement came on the same day that 59 Democrats in the State Legislature — about 40 percent of the party’s members in the Assembly and the Senate — signed on to a statement demanding that Mr. Cuomo immediately resign in the wake of allegations from women, including current and former aides, who have accused him of harassment or inappropriate behavior. |

Jacobs said the lieutenant governor "understands the need to do the politics, not just when she’s up for reelection. You see a lot of politicians out and about when their name is on the ballot. 123. Like a Governor with a history of fudging Covid facts and accusations of harassment
is so much of a better bet.
She may not be known well YET, but she'd have almost two years as an incumbent Governor to make herself more well known. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/03/who-is-andrew-cuomos-lieutenant-governor-kathy-hochul.html The Buffalo News’ editorial board, in its endorsement of Hochul for lieutenant governor in 2018, emphasized her solid record of public service for western New York, her economic-development efforts, and her advocacy for women, noting that she “sees the governor-lieutenant governor relationship as akin to that of Barack Obama and Joe Biden — someone in sync with the chief’s priorities … She is the face of the initiatives, making appearances, leading task forces, and rallying support in the community and with legislators.” She has famously made a point of visiting every county in the state (by car) each year she has served as lieutenant governor, is reportedly partial to drop-ins at diners to talk with locals, and didn’t let up on her in-person style of politics during the pandemic — often traveling to attend virtual events in various parts of the state rather than logging in for them from Albany. From March to the end of last year, she still made it to every county, gave more than 500 interviews, and was particularly focused on the administration’s pandemic response in western New York. (SNIP) Is she like Cuomo? No. Hochul seems to be widely respected — and liked — by Democratic officials and lawmakers statewide, as she is constantly on the front lines meeting with them, and bends over backward to help out on campaigns small and large, sometimes even for Democrats outside the state. As the Buffalo News explains in a look at her potential post-Cuomo coalition: It is clear that Gov. Kathy Hochul would be the temperamental opposite of the temperamental Cuomo, who has kept Hochul at a bit of a distance. Hochul’s personal warmth serves as her political fuel, an asset that’s allowed her to forge deep political ties across the state while pushing the governor’s message. |

I think Franken should have done a Larry Craig and hung on for years, and that Eliot Spitzer should have swallowed up the bad, confess all, and go on being governor. But I also am pretty sure that a rather high percentage of powerful men take the opportunity to grope, to grab, to "tease", to "flirt", and to generally make the women around them feel threatened. Problem is, if we get rid of all these men, we get rid of a lot of power, knowledge, and skill (several journalists of course also have been forced out for this). I hope men in power and wealth in the future will have more care about how quickly that can all dissipate if they can't keep their hands and comments to themselves. |

65. If the accusations are true, reports should have been filed lodging a complaint.
This last one especially should have generated a report. That’s why an investigation is so necessary. If no complaints were filed, then it mostly becomes his word against theirs. I know there’s a photo of him putting his hands on the face of one woman, but that, to me at least, is not proof of sexual harassment. And I think the one claiming he asked her to play strip poker on an airplane has already been denied by other staff on the plane.
Governor Cuomo has been in politics for many years and has been governor since 2011. He also served as NY AG and the Secretary of HUD. It seems to me that a man who indulges in sexual harassment does that because it is a pattern—think about Trump on the Access Hollywood tapes and the dozens of women who accused him of harassment and rape over a period of years, starting when he was young. To suddenly start harassing women seems unusual. Yet to my knowledge, this is the first time Governor Cuomo has been accused of inappropriate behavior after spending decades in public office. That’s what just doesn’t ring true. I never believed the accusations against Al Franken either, and I think many people here agree that he was railroaded. I hope there’s a complete investigation of these claims against Governor Cuomo. Otherwise his career is over. |

Why seemingly so against an investigation playing out...what happens if these accusations ring untrue or greatly exaggerated? Due process should be kept, let the investigation play out before removing him, doing it before an investigation is done is foolish to say the least

133. I caught a hide last week for opining about Cuomo.
So I'll just stay quiet and watch for more accusers.

A big, Florida-based one with Richard Nixon tattooed on his back. Stone took down Spitzer and Franken. He's probably doing Cuomo as a favor to the Orange Turd.

177. If it's coming from the R's, it's incredibly stupid.
Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul would be a harder candidate for them to beat in 2022.

179. No she wouldn't
As another DUer just pointed out...
She has the same problems with the left Cuomo has, but none of his starpower and appeal to PoC. She barely won her primary in 2018, whereas her running mate Cuomo won by 30 points. I can't see her winning a Dem primary in 2022 if she barely won in 'better times'. |

181. Cuomo's "star power" is considerably diminished. If Kathy Hochul became Governor now,
she'd have almost 2 years to travel around the state, building support.
But you seem to have forgotten that she beat the Republican by 24 points in 2018, so all she'd have to do is repeat that success. https://ballotpedia.org/Kathy_Hochul https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/01/kathy-hochul-democrats-new-york-424760 Tom Perez, chair of the Democratic National Committee, described Hochul as a "force of nature," adding that "she has been essential to building a deep bench of strong Democratic leaders in New York State and across the country." Jacobs said the lieutenant governor "understands the need to do the politics, not just when she’s up for reelection. You see a lot of politicians out and about when their name is on the ballot. She is out and about when anyone’s name is on the ballot, as long as there’s a ‘D’ after it.” |

183. She won't be the nominee.
If she were the Dem nominee she would likely easily beat the Repub nominee. But the real 'game' is within the Dem primary and that is where she will face heavy hitters from the anti-Cuomo left, but without any appeal to PoC like he has. Thus, I see the left winning the nomination. The left of course often overestimates their appeal to general election voters, especially if they put up someone with similar policies to de Blasio, who is widely unpopular. In such a scenario the Repubs could win if they put up a moderate with at least some appeal to PoC.

186. She doesn't understand what's happening here..
And is ok with condemning cuomo without an investigation, they think Hochul cruising to victory is a sure thing...they think no R can win in NY...in other words they are falling hook line sinker, this is an attempt to secure the governorship for trumps eventual pardon.your scenario is highly likely Hochul loses in primary to a much further left candidate who goes on to lose the general...why not see what the investigation finds..why is she afraid of its finding..I'm a cuomo fan of the investigation says he did something illegal he should go..unfortunately she is not willing to do the same from her vantage point

182. Look Al Franken had to be pushed out in order to win against Roy Moore
Most Alabama TV news started running BS stories about how the Dems were just all talk about #MeToo and how there was no real proof against Roy Moore
Doug Jones beat a pedophile by only 1.7% Without Doug Jones the ACA was gone because the GOP still had the house at the time. Trump and the Turtle were waiting for McCain to die to try again Al announced he was resigning on Dec 7th, the election was on Dec, 12th. |

188. This is a problem
Since Democrats support policies that advance equality, respect and advancement of women.
Since Democrats have placed women's rights in the workplace and over her own body and choices as a central tenet of public policy. Since Democrats have done more by 6AM to advance women's fight for equality, than the Retrumplican Party has done in 200 years... Because of all that. Because Dems are champions of issues important to women, then ALL accusations against Democrats MUST result in them leaving any position of power that impacts the rights of women. Do I have that right? Because of democrats support for women's equality, they must leave any position that can help push women's issues forward if there is even one accusation, or 10? Thanks, but I think I prefer to go the "due process" route before we start destroying the ONLY political party the doesn't take the "barefoot and pregnant" approach when it comes to women's rights in our society. |

187. I feel like Cuomo is being ganged up on
Too many accusers coming out all of a sudden. Wasn’t he considered “most eligible bachelor” (or whatever the moniker is) at one point? I have doubts that he was hard pressed to find female companionship.
I’m not saying he’s innocent. But I’m tired of the snowball effect. One person accused and then all of a sudden others start. It feels intentional. Let’s have the investigation before the guy is crucified. That’s all I’m asking. |

191. Yeah. You'd think he'd be smarter than that, however
there are a lot of guys who are gropers. I have heard that from many of the women I've known in my life. Just about every woman I know has experienced some guy who groped them at some time or another. For a lot of them, it was during their teen years when they were just started dating.
I don't know Cuomo, so I have no idea if he is a groper or not. I never was, not even as a teenager. It's just not my style. I either asked or waited until the other person took the initiative and suggested it or physically moved my hand. I can't imagine groping anyone anywhere without actual permission or through the other person's actions. But, I've heard from almost every woman I know well that they have been groped without permission at sometime or another. Their reactions to that varied a lot, of course. But it's a common experience, apparently. My wife told me that a kid in high school groped her on her very first date with him. She said that she told him, "Knock that crap off and take me home." She was already not a person who tolerates such things. So, I suppose that Cuomo might have done that, but I don't know the man. Such crude behavior on the part of many men is pretty common, from what I understand, though. |
