If the accusations are true, should Cuomo resign?

Obviously he knows whether they are true, and if he is lying he knows it. But if they are, should he resign?

Focus should be kept on GQP attempts to turn this country into an authoritarian one-party state.

When Spitzer got caught in that prostitution scandal and had to resign his office, Democrats held the governorship in the following election. New York is a Democratic State inclined to elect Democrats unless given a compelling reason not to. If a strong scandal free Democrat runs for Governor next term instead of Cuomo, s/he will win, whereas Cuomo may not. His father, if memory serves me right, was defeated seeking a fourth term as Governor.

It would not help the Democratic cause, either nationally or locally, for a Republican to become the next New York State Governor.

Personally I think that it’s a copy of what happened to Al Franken, and I don’t like it.

An investigation probably would have shown he shouldn't have posed for that silly picture, and that was the end of it.

Cuomo has all but admitted he did the things he's been accused of. Besides, the OP posed the question as if the accusations are valid. That is not the same thing as Franken.

So when we have a pussy grabber and a rapist, we should protect him because they protected Trump? Are we going to defend a member of the Klan if they have a D after their name? How about a Holocaust denier? Do we have no principles at all?

How much are we going to excuse? There was at least one reply here that stated "no more falling on swords," regardless of the accusations. One would have to assume that would include a pussy-grabber/rapist.

The women’s’ accusations or the nursing home scandal? The second concerns me more.

More than 9,000 recovering coronavirus patients in New York state were released from hospitals into nursing homes early in the pandemic under a controversial directive that was scrapped amid criticism it accelerated outbreaks, according to new records obtained by The Associated Press.

The new number of 9,056 recovering patients sent to hundreds of nursing homes is more than 40% higher than what the state health department previously released. And it raises new questions as to whether a March 25 directive from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s administration helped spread sickness and death among residents, a charge the state disputes.

If he doesn't resign he should run again (and I agree he shouldn't resign).

1) let an independent investigation sort it out and

2) let the voters decide they want him for another term.

This isn't anything like Spitzer or some other scandals. It also doesn't rise to the level of an assault (as in the Weinstein case for instance).

Wasn't there an accusation tried with Biden last year too? Should he have dropped out of the race over an accusation? I think not and glad he didn't.
