National debt/current deficits not Obama's fault

Basic outline of our current debt and deficits. For next time some idiot Teabagger tells you Obama has spent added $6 trillion to the national debt.

VP Cheney famously stated to his Sec Treasury Paul ONeill "Reagan proved to us deficits dont matter" (as Reagan TRIPLED the national debt).
Bush and Cheney then proceeded to cut taxes on the rich over the objections of ONeill. Once in 2001 then again in 2003.

Then they started 2 wars TRIPLING the defense budget since 1997. Much of that went and still goes to their Military-Industrial Complex war profiteering cronies.

The Bush fiscal crisis shed 8 million tax paying jobs which has driven up the national debt and deficits even more.

Obama has increased spending by 1% a year average, while his FISCAL CON predecessors Bush and Reagan increased spending average 8% a year.. which we are STILL paying for!

Makes sense to me and any reduction in the debt is also not a result of presidential actions. nt jody Oct 2012 #1
