The families of the dead and wounded police officers may disagree with you on that one Ronnie.

(23,226 posts)A 55-year-old Messianic rabbi and ex-lawyer was arrested Friday and charged with taking part in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Palm Harbor, Florida resident Michael Stepakoff was dobbed in by an unidentified friend of 20 years, according to a criminal complaint. In surveillance footage from Capitol insurrection, Stepakoff can be seen walking into the lobby among the crowd and taking photos.
Prosecutors allege Stepakoff shared a selfie and other photos from the Capitol on Jan. 6 on Facebook. Epic and historical moment, he wrote in the caption. According to the complaint, his wife posted on social media that same day, Update on Michael, yall. Please continue to prayers for his protection and to be safe. He texted me privately and said he is okay but its very dangerous where he is- He was inside the Capitol Building. Messianic Jews are not widely accepted as representative of Judaism due to their belief in some Christian traditions.

(2,005 posts)Those calling themselves messianic Jews are not Jews.
The equivalent would be those calling themselves Christians against christ.
Jews (like myself) do not believe in Jesus, or do not believe he was the Messiah.
Someone calling themselves a Messianic Jew is a Christian. Period.
Once a Jew believes in Jesus they are a follower of christanity.
If a Christian didn't believe in Jesus they wouldn't be considered a Christian.
He's a fake rabbi, a fraud. He might as well call himself pope or king or president, which would be as valid as calling himself a rabbi. Rabbi's are ordained by other recognized Jewish rabbi's. A Messianic "rabbi" ordained by a Messianic "rabbi" is not a rabbi according to Jewish law.
Christians who call themselves Messianic Jews are Christian.
Judeo-christian is a philosophical theoretical thing, derived from those who follow or descend from Abraham. But they are mutually exclusive. They are either Jewish or Christian.
I'd call him messianic clergy. Sorry but this is a pet peeve of mine.

(11,927 posts)I've thought about it, and don't THINK it's racist, but I could see someone making that argument. As if all "dash-Americans" think the same way. Hispanic-Americans, African- Americans and so on.
My questions is...why would POC associate themselves with people who clearly don't give a rat's ass for the Constitution, or have a completely warped idea of what it says, and how it protects people?
Especially in this current climate, where being a visible minority is clearly the most imperiled kind of minority to be. The Capitol Hill mob isn't made up of KKK etc, necessarily, although they clearly have their white nationalist element.
Even to give any aid and comfort to the MAGAts, with whom I would think they had no ideological alignment.

(11,927 posts)If they continue to build up a nice CV of destruction of property, entering an area forbidden to them, or similar, their lives will continue to get harder and harder.
I'm sure it will make them more bitter and twisted, although in many cases, I don't see how.
