‘Its Own Domestic Army’: How the G.O.P. Allied Itself With Militants
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/08/us/militias-republicans-michigan.html FEB 08 2021

LANSING, Mich. — Dozens of heavily armed militiamen crowded into the Michigan Statehouse last April to protest a stay-at-home order by the Democratic governor to slow the pandemic. Chanting and stomping their feet, they halted legislative business, tried to force their way onto the floor and brandished rifles from the gallery over lawmakers below.

Initially, Republican leaders had some misgivings about their new allies. “The optics weren’t good. Next time tell them not to bring guns,” complained Mike Shirkey, the State Senate majority leader, according to one of the protest organizers. But Michigan’s highest-ranking Republican came around after the planners threatened to return with weapons and “militia guys signing autographs and passing out blow-up AR-15s to the kiddies on the Capitol lawn.”

“To his credit,” Jason Howland, the organizer, wrote in a social media post, Mr. Shirkey agreed to help the cause and “spoke at our next event.” [snip]

Two weeks after the Statehouse protest, Mr. Shirkey, the Republican leader, appeared at a rally by the same organizers, onstage with a militia member who would later be accused of conspiring to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

“Stand up and test that assertion of authority by the government,” Mr. Shirkey told the militiamen. “We need you now more than ever.”

Feb 2021

Here’s the full transcript and audio of the call between Trump and Raffensperger:

About 3 p.m. Saturday, President Trump held an hour-long call with Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s secretary of state, in which he repeatedly urged him to alter the outcome of the presidential vote in the state. He was joined on the call by White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and several lawyers, including longtime conservative attorney Cleta Mitchell and Georgia-based attorney Kurt Hilbert. Raffensperger was joined by his office’s general counsel, Ryan Germany, and Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs.

The Washington Post obtained a copy of a recording of the call. This transcript has been edited to remove the name of an individual about whom Trump makes unsubstantiated claims.

Violence erupts at Trump rally as thousands protest election in DC
By Mary Kay Linge December 12, 2020 | 3:06pm | Updated
Million Maga March

Trump supporters gather at a rally protesting the 2020 presidential election in Washington, DC, today. James Keivom for NY Post

Violence erupted on the streets of Washington, DC, Saturday as thousands of President Trump’s most die-hard supporters swelled the nation’s capital for a second round of protests against the results of the presidential election.

One person was reportedly stabbed after a black-clad pedestrian rushed a group of men wearing helmets and gas masks and threw a punch. The men were making their way to Freedom Plaza, where a rally dubbed the Million MAGA March had gathered. A video of the clash showed one man in Proud Boys regalia alongside the helmeted group.

“This isn’t over, this is just beginning,” former Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson promised the crowd there.

“We knew that both Republicans and Democrats were against we the people,” Pierson said in a fiery speech. “We are the cavalry. No one’s coming for us.”

38. Amy Kremer / Women for America First
Wed Feb 10, 2021, 04:15 PM
Feb 2021
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Kremer

Amy Kremer (born 1970 or 1971)[1] is an American seditionist. She became involved in the Tea Party movement in 2009 and campaigned as part of the Tea Party Express until 2014. During the 2016 presidential election she was a co-founder of two political action committees supporting Donald Trump's campaign, and following Trump's loss in the 2020 presidential election she supported attempts to overturn the election result. In 2017 she unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election in Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican. The January 6, 2021 rally at the Ellipse that led to the mobbing of the Capitol was originally organized by a pro-Trump group called Women for America First, founded by Kremer. [snip]

Wow. That will be edited soon, but there it is for now. Apologies from GA for this freak.

During the counting of votes following the 2020 United States presidential election, Women for America First founded a Facebook group titled "Stop the Steal", in which Kremer was a moderator. Facebook removed the group on November 5, and described it as "organized around the delegitimization of the election process".[38] Later that month, Kremer and Women for America First organized a protest in Washington, D.C., in support of Trump and his refusal to concede after losing the election.[39] In her speech at the event, Kremer criticized Facebook, Eventbrite and Mailchimp for removing listings for events she had organized.[40] Kremer spoke at events on a two-week bus tour sponsored, in part, by My Pillow to support Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election and encourage attendance at a rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6 which preceded the storming of the U.S. Capitol. This tour ended December 14, 2020.[41] Women for America First then organized a new bus tour to encourage the attendance at a rally in Washington, D.C., on January 6 which preceded the storming of the U.S. Capitol. As part of this bus tour, Kremer visited the Tactical Response marksman training center in Nashville, Tennessee, owned by James Yeager, where she and others taped an episode of Yeager's YouTube show "Tactical Response".[42]

On January 6, 2021, Women for America First hosted an event in Washington, D.C. referred to as "March to Save America." The executive director of Women for Trump, Kylie Jane Kremer, was listed as the person in charge on the rally’s permit.[43] Kremer spoke at the event.[41] The organization's Facebook page called on supporters to be part of a "caravan" to Washington for the event.[43] As Women for America First noted in a post-event press release, the event was followed by the storming of the United States Capitol.[44]

was how they emphasized the escalation of Trump's efforts. In other words, how he progressed from requests and lawsuits to increasing pressure on various officials to the point where he ran out of peaceful options and resorted to setting up the violent confrontation at the Capitol.

I think it was well structured, and easy to follow. This is important in order for people to be able to read it.

I don't think that Repubs sitting there are going to care about anything but Party Over Country. Well, some of them might. But, we are making points that some of his cult might consider as they contemplate their own participation in this dreadful incident. Especially when people died because of it.
