An accused Capitol rioter asked the judge for permission to leave the US for a vacation in MexicoOne of the rioters who stormed the US Capitol during the January insurrection asked a federal court to let her leave the US for a vacation she booked in Mexico. Jenny Cudd's lawyers asked the US District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday to approve Cudd's request to travel outside of the country. The motion, seen by Insider, says Cudd "planned and prepaid for a weekend retreat with her employees for the dates of February 18 through February 21, 2021, in Riviera Maya, Mexico." "This is a work-related bonding retreat for employees and their spouses." Snip https://www.businessinsider.com/capitol-rioter-asks-court-permission-leave-us-for-mexico-vacation-2021-2

1. Retreats should be cancelled. Too bad. So sad.
She will hopefully be sent away after a trial.

13. Wait--the owner of a flower shop in Midland, TX is paying for a weekend retreat
for employees on the Mexican Riviera one year into a raging pandemic?
What the hell kind of flowers do they sell? |

19. That's sadly true. Still doesn't seem like the floral industry is one with large profit margins.
Makes me wonder if she got a large chunk of sweet PPP money. What better way to use it than to put all your employees and their spouses on a plane and fly to a resort in another country during a pandemic?

6. Fuck no
At minimum she should be under house arrest with an ankle monitor. I think she should be behind bars, but a vacation to Mexico, fuck no unless she is in a chain gang picking up trash.

9. will probably be granted....
If the judge was fine with home confinement and bond, then they would probably allow a work meeting. All the judge would need is reasonable confidence she has a lot to lose by staying there.
Some of these federal judges don't see the insurrection as anything more than protest and trespass. We shall see.......... |

14. Yep. There doesn't appear to be any objections
It's up to the judge, but I wouldn't be surprised if they let her go. It's ludicrous.

Sure you can still go go your retreat, sack in the sun, drink ya some drinks, get laid by ???? Why should a little thing of insurrection cancel your plans. You've been planning for so long now. I'd say your employees can send you some wonderful and lovely postcards. Hello Jeeny, This place is a-maz-ing, wish you were here instead of waiting for your trial on your interference of a Free and Fair election. Love ya! ![]() |
