I switched to cartoons.

(1,261 posts)I enjoy the show and like Joe Scarborough but I was a little put off this morning by his attitude (must reach out and make compromises to the GOP to demonstrate 'unity', etc) when, frankly, he and most folks likely know that if this was some huge tax cut or other proposal, the Republicans would all ready ramming it though, likely working long weekends to do it as fast as possible.
But I expected it or something close, Scarborough is a Republican and doesn't try to hide his leanings but he comes across to me as one of the sane ones.

He may have left the Republican Party but he is still a right winger who attacked Obama for years.

(94,333 posts)I watch shows with good news and political coverage. What I don't do is decide I don't like a show and then keep watching it.

(21,256 posts)in CNN and msnbc to right wing talking points. I rarely watch them in the morning. I wait until Nicolle comes on, then wait until Chris comes on.
The MSM is right wing. The narrative that really pisses me off is that, it is inevitable that Trump is going to be acquitted. The more they say that the more they "normalize" it. Yeah I believe he will be acquitted but I follow that up with "it is disgusting, our Republican Senators are voting to kill our democracy. The cable news anchors don't do follow ups.
Carry on watching morning cable news, I can't stomach any of it.

(6,280 posts).... I like Steve Schmidt, and I am glad he is now pretty much on our side. The thing is, he is also the person who brought us Sarah Palin, and almost single-handedly destroyed John Kerry's campaign against George Bush, yet now, he is a darling of Democratic Underground.
Joe Scarborough who had Trump as a guest on his show several times, and did have a relationship that ended in 2016 is now demonized as though he single-handedly got trump elected. For the past 4 years, 5 days a week, 3 hours a day most of his time has been spent eviscerating trump, and his enablers. A good portion of his Morning Show has been a democratic platform for the likes of people such as Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, and the list goes on and on. Why do they appear on his show if, as many people here insist, he is scum? Because they appreciate his contribution of the last 4 years, and have moved well beyond the petty animosity many here at Democratic Underground feed upon. If there is anyone here at Democratic Underground who has done more in the last 4 years to promote Democrats, and help get Joe Biden elected please step forward. I would personally like to thank you, and give you a virtual pat on the back.
What he stated about the budget office is simply a fact, and if I'm not mistaken, Joe Biden's campaign was based upon "working together". If that is such a bad thing, how did Joe Biden beat out so many other candidates for the nomination overwhelmingly, and then stomp trump's ass into the ground? I for one back Joe Biden 100% because giving a little to gain a lot, plus an easier path to legislation is the logical thing to do.

(13,909 posts)wants this stimulus bill to go big. Thats unity. Bipartisanship is not necessarily synonymous with unity. Repubs can come on board but I trust that Joe, Schumer, etc. are going to follow through on the current version of the bill.
quickesst
(6,280 posts)I never stated, nor insinuated otherwise. Unfortunately, this is not the only bill that will arise. Some form of bipartisanship will be a part of Joe Biden's presidency. It is inevitable. As far as what Scarborough said, unlike a lie, no rational person would condemn someone for stating a fact.
