They did it -- the special interests have officially hit the $20 million mark in attacks against me.

So now -- right now -- we have to make a decision. Are we going to shake our heads at how crazy our system has become in the wake of Citizens United? Are we going to feel sorry for ourselves?

Or are we going to fight back and beat these guys?

It’s Buckeye Bomb time: A grassroots challenge to my online supporters to counter this $20 million barrage -- not by matching their attacks, but by raising $1 million of our own, $20 (or more!) at a time.

That means we need 50,000 people to join in the Buckeye Bomb and take a stand. You can be one of them by making a donation of at least $20 to help us fight back against $20 million in special interest attacks.

There’s no doubt that, when it’s all said and done, the story of this campaign will be the special interest spending. But we get to write the ending to that story.

If we let them overwhelm us, the ending will be: “...and that’s why progressives can’t win in America anymore.”

But if we fight back, the ending will be: “...but Sherrod Brown and his team proved that a grassroots progressive effort can still triumph over the special interests.”
