with murder for decades now. We need to hold their feet to the fire!!

Dems need to be more assertive and find ways to circumvent repukes’ spurious and preposterous babble.

A bold & brilliant counter-campaign to neutralize RW propaganda is necessary, and that requires funding and expert planning.

Hawley and Cruz should not be seated at the impeachment trial.

5. Alas, poor naive Denise Haynes, I knew her, Horatio.

It's a quid-pro-quo thing. And in GOP land that equates to, "you scratch my back and I kick you in the shins". What we learn from this is that when you do favors for republicans wear those things baseball catchers wear on their legs. You see Republicans cannot learn by example. They only learn by doing.

Kinda like a "monkey see, monkey do" scenario but really warped and pretty much evil. For instance, when they are fed, they cower back until their masters allow them to feed. But if a well-meaning passer-by offers a treat they will bite their hand and steal the remainder of their food. Some don't go back to their friends and secretly brag about how they "shook down the rubes" but most do.

6. First we have to have a new Senate but McTurtle is filibustering it right now.

I'm sure Nancy will hold ethics meetings after the investigations and I'd bet Brooks, Boebert, Gosar and maybe others are going down for aiding and abettting an insurrection at minimm and possibly with planning an insurrection as well. Nancy wil boot them and I willl cheer. Senate, that's a different story and Hawley and Cruz could skate because McTurtle and assholery abounds there.

29. Can she boot them out?

Wouldn't it require a process, like an impeachment, or a vote in the House, at least?

Of course they won't resign. I am wary about the ongoing insistance of House Reps on carrying guns and evading the metal detectors. I fear that they have a mission they still wish to accomplish.

30. Members Of Congress (Either House) Can't Be Impeached

They can be expelled by their house, but it's a high bar...2/3, IIRC. Of course, they can be criminally prosecuted for illegal acts, but there is the whole "speech & debate" protection under the Constitution that has to be kept in mind.

It's not easy to get rid of a sitting member of Congress.

31. That's what I thought. Thanks.

Best bet to get rid of them, I think, would be to get solid evidence of criminal behavior, if it exists, and prosecute them. In lieu of that, just allow them no responsible positions and work hard in their districts to vote them out. And keep a large enough House majority to make them really ineffectual.

35. They could have an ethics meeting, censure then remove.

I don't know the removal process, if it just takes 50%, these asses will be gone if the truth is allowed to come to light that they are co-conspirators and planners of the sedition on 1/6.

8. Sadly, a good point

Republicans rape women in dressing rooms: crickets. Democrats pose in a gag photo: outrage. And the evil thing about this is that the Democrats let stand all and any Republican crimes (in the interest of collegiality?) and hammer the heads of their own over lying allegations made against them.

Hawley, Cruz, Boebert, Brooks, and dozens upon dozens of others gave aid and succor to the bastards who fecally trashed our Capitol Building and murdered a police officer. Got that: they gave sideline rah-rah to traitors, to insurrectionists out to murder Democratic Members -- and a handful of Republicans, as well.

The Dems are understandably outraged as the attack on the Capitol Building. But WTF are they doing about the traitors in their midst?

The GOP is the Party of Insurrection and Treason. The Democratic Party is the Party of Caution and Gentility. We’re about to see what caution and gentility get you in a war for freedom, liberty, and the rule of law.

While in the Franken and Hill situations, there were calls for them to step down from within the Democratic party. And I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for republicans to go after Hawley, etc.

20. I blame the media

Anytime a democrat does or is accused of doing something even slightly wrong, they go nuts and press every other democrat to denounce them. The first question for every Republican right now should be why they are not calling for these resignations.

33. Nixon's resignation was not "honorable." He resigned to avoid conviction at an impeachment trial.

He "rehabilitated" his image over time and died with a relatively high public rating. I'm trying to remember a prominent Republican who resigned for honorable reasons, and I'm afraid none come to mind. Can anyone else think of one?

40. Why Franken and Hill resigned are not important to Republicans.

What matters is they got rid of some Democratic legislators, by whatever means necessary.
They will circle the wagons around their own, no matter what the crime.
That's what Democrats need to learn, and adapt their political game to.
Rules are for Democrats.
Rules are merely obstacles to Republicans, but they can be ignored.

42. Yup.

No matter how many times we tap our shoes together three times and wish it so, and believe that if we always follow the rules, even going beyond that and resigning at even the hint of controversy, and then even if Republicans cheat and lie and skirt the rules for their own benefit, we will always come out on top in the end. Because nice guys always finish first right? I think that's how it goes...wait.
