Bush is more "likeable" by associating with Democrats.

He was secluded after his term until he snuggled up to Michelle and became fast friends. Since, heís not missed a chance to show up with Clinton and the Obamas at various events.

Most people I know donít realize the damage he did and consider him to be quite likable. And of course the media never details his record.

Democrats are and have always been much more likable and talented. Todayís celebration attested to that once again. I donít understand how our kindness, decency and talent donít continually, overwhelmingly eclipse the negativity, malice and hate of Republicans.

2. You're right, but after the horror show we all just survived, it'll be a good long while before

historians get to the Bush/Cheney years. And how naive I was then, referring to the Bush years as "The Dark Time." Little did I know...

4. I can't fault him for his post political words and actions.

I did not agree with his politics and I was very hard on him.

People change and he appears to be a decent person now. I think he is an honest Christian now and accept that anyone can repent.

5. I'd take Bush any day over trump, no questions asked

Hated the Iraq war, hated his policies, but didn't fear like the way i did the last 4 years.

7. Hence my user name lolz

Bush was a whole lot of things, pushed into the wars by neocons and some liberal hawks after 911. Enron and his own form of cronyism. One think is for sure though, he ainít no Trump. Bush at least gave a shit. With Medicare prescription plan and his pursuit for a realistic plan for a citizenship path for illegals, In todays MAGAt swarmed GOP he would be considered a liberal.

13. He was not evil to the core like Trump. I gave him props

for the resources and efforts he made, re AIDS in Africa for example.

6. People can change. Redemption is possible.

I was once a bigot. In todayís terms I would have been a MAGAt. Now I have done a complete change. I am ashamed and disgusted of the man I once was. Maybe Bush had an epiphany, too.

15. Worse would be a Josh Hawley type.

Someone who's like Trump but younger and way more charismatic. And one of Trump's biggest downfalls was his complete lack of charisma. That could be utterly disastrous, especially if said nominee follows Trump's playbook exactly.

16. He's a likable stooge...

-

He helped kill hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis, all based on lies, and the media didn't say a FUCKING thing.

I protested that fucking war almost 24 hours a day, going to every march, protest, and demonstration that I'd heard about here in Seattle.

Hundreds of thousand died anyway, and the country that actually had seven of it's citizens involved, we just kept buying their fucking oil.

They also said that heroin addicts were the real cause behind all this, because of the money the al-Qaida was making off it, and then totally ignoring the real reason.

Oil.

Ok, now despite all that, I could still see myself sitting down with the man and sharing some whiskey.

Am I sick or what?

"I donít understand how our kindness, decency and talent donít continually, overwhelmingly eclipse the negativity..."

The key to answering that is to see it from their perspective. They wouldn't see it as kindness and decency, but rather as a whole shitload of pompous assholes showing off... in other words, we're the enemy.

17. I know (knew)

4 people who died in his fucking war. Fuck him. I don't care how nice he is to #ForeverFLOTUS, he is a goddamn war criminal.

Not recognizing these horrible repukes for who they are results in them being re-elected over and over. They need to be outed and shunned forever. Every time I think America has turned this corner, these monsters pull us back.

19. Bush can go fuck right off. Not playing these 'Well, he is less evil than Trump' games.

His regime's empiric wars (and unfortunately other US regime's as well) fucked up so many countries. Some, like Sweden, have indirectly been forever altered (in our case negatively, on balance) at almost every macro socio-cultural, socio-economic sytemic level.
