Corporate America and Local Businesses needs to pay a price for supporting Hate Radio

There needs to be maximum pressure on local Hate Radio to get them to stop their propaganda, or suffer the consequences

95% of the treasonous fucksticks that marched on our capitol got amped up by the disgusting shit they are fed 24/7 by their local Hate Radio stations. Not only do they offer nothing but racist shitheels like Limbaugh and Hannity, their local morning show hosts serve as conservative porn "fluffers" for the national hosts.

Our local morning dickweed actually said the other day that; "the president probably shouldn't have spent the last two months saying "the election was stolen". He is on a fucking radio station that spent 18 HOURS A DAY OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS saying "the election was stolen"

Our "local" station also happens to be the Home of our University's sports.

Why does the NFL, NBA, MLB, and Major College and Universities allow their sports to be promoted and broadcast on stations that offer nothing but Limbaugh, Hannity, Levine, Kilmeade and the thousands of cookie-cutter local Rush "mini-mes" for the remainder of their programming?

"Stay tuned as Lebron James takes on Steph Curry...but first, here's Rush Limbaugh to tell you how black people in Georgia are lazy takers, ruining America for the rest of us and urging white supremacists to lay siege to the capitol for stealing our election"

...ahem, Disclaimer: the views of the hosts on this radio station that comprise 98% of our entire programming, do not reflect the views of the NFL, NBA, MLB, or The University of ____________

1. I quit buying products advertised on hate radio years ago

The first that come to mind are

Bose
Oreck
Charles Schwab
Lowe’s

Am certain there are others ... and not buying or patronizing their businesses is now a reflexive action

4. I've been saying for *YEARS* that AM radio is the problem.

And it's not just the big names like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and so on. It's the local hosts and podcast shock jocks like Alex Jones, Wayne Dupree, Ben Shapiro, and Joe Rogan, that are creating boutique propaganda. And on podcasts, because they're not regulated, can literally say anything they want. And people can listen to them any time of day. Yes, major platforms like Apple and Patreon do have rules, but they don't enforce them unless there's an urgent need to, like what happened last week. And they get away with it every time. This is going to become a huge problem in the coming years.

And even looking at the Top 50 podcasts on iTunes - there's a shit ton of right wing personalities in the top 50:

#5 - Ben Shapiro
#6 - Dinesh D'Souza
#7 - Dan Bongino
#10 - Joe Rogan
#23 - Mark Levin
#28 - Dave Ramsey
#30 - Graham Allen (Q Anon)
#33 - Charlie Kirk
#39 - Glenn Beck
#52 - Rush Limbaugh
#62 - Jordan B. Pederson
#63 - Rudy Giuliani

So yeah that's a lot.

5. We ignore Hate Radio at our own peril.

Ever wonder why rural areas are overwhelmingly Red, voting against their own interests?

It's because these damn radio stations are broadcasting hate speech 24/7, and it is everywhere. They play it at workplaces, at business establishments, you hear it blaring from cars.

I hired a crew to come build a new deck on my house, and they had a big boom box out there playing Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, and a host of others I've never heard of. All day long.

The liberals have, for some reason, ceded the entire radio spectrum to the most hateful, unAmerican, players in our country.

It's not just because of advertising. Some of these small stations don't even play ads on these shows. During breaks, they play PSAs and music. Someone is paying them to run these shows.

I'll also report Ben Shapiro and Dinesh D'Souza as well. Hopefully they will take action if they get enough complaints.

8. I've worked for contractors who would fire employees and subs who annoy clients with their radios.

Clients can fire contractors as well.

You can put it in the contract.

When I was young and working on construction sites I had bosses who banned radios entirely saying it was a safety issue. (They also happened to have a lot of upscale clients who were easily annoyed...)

Plenty of people have jobs that don't allow them to listen to the radio; jobs far more monotonous than construction work.

I once worked in a warehouse where the boss played the local country music station all day. It made me a little crazy, but not enough to quit. If he was playing hate radio or religious radio I certainly would have complained to his boss who would have put an end to it.

I am an NFL fan. I find it hard to wrap my head around Fox Sports having a deal with the NFL.

I do try my best to avoid Nazi references, but I think about World War II

Suppose that we had Nazi TV News in 1942, but we also had Nazi Sports that had the rights to the World Series.

Would we happily tune in to Nazi Sports and ignore the damage that Nazi News was doing?

Every radio station that broadcasts even one second of Limbaugh, Hannity, or the other wingnut Dipshits, OWNS this violent attack on our Democracy.

They are complicit, and so are the businesses that give them advertising dollars.

The Heritage Foundation helps keep Rush Limbaugh on the airwaves, for example.

I personally suspect that wealthy liberals, like George Soros, receive so much scorn from them because they could do what wealthy right-wingers are doing -- use their money to fund countering liberal propaganda.

You know, instead of more philanthropic stuff like feeding the hungry.

12. Brainwashing taken to the nth degree.
Sat Jan 16, 2021, 10:25 AM

Hate radio is much more toxic even than Fox News. People are on it all day everyday at many worksites across the country. Working stiffs have no time to to be watching political TV but don't need to to get a constant stream of racist hate. The point about these same stations providing local sports play by play and talk shows is right on and why Schools and Universities are playing along is probably a result of the consolidation of Radio Media.

Does anyone know of a group or organization that is addressing this? I've seen some efforts to block advertisers but nothing very effective. Some real effort needs to be taken to identify the stations, hosts and financing. Democrats need to bring back the fairness doctrine (or whatever the called it) as the FCC is still regulating broadcast radio. How are these Schools and Universities being brought in on this? Are they being offered free coverage and being used to draw listeners to the hate hosts? I do believe PACs and RW think tanks and donors are financing these stations, like Sinclair Communications, and the result is a bunch of lie believing, brainwashed numskulls.

If I were younger than my 73 years, I'd put in some time on this rather than fighting developers and realtors serving on the local planning board.
