AOC feared 'White Supremacist members of Congress' would turn her over to Trump rioters during siege

‘I did not know if I was going to make it to the end of that day alive. And not just in a general sense, but in a very specific sense,’ AOC shared

As the fallout continues following last Wednesday’s Capitol insurrection, Democratic New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to her social media this week to share the terror she experienced that day – at times fearing her own congressional colleagues would turn her over to the angry mob to be killed.

Late Tuesday evening, during an hour-long Instagram live that attracted nearly 100,000 people, the congresswoman fielded questions from her constituents and supporters on the app.

Not surprisingly, she received several questions about her experience on January 6 and only a few minutes into the video makes the stunning admission about fearing for her life.

“I had a pretty traumatizing event happen to me, and I don’t even know if I can disclose the full details of that event due to security concerns, but I can tell you I had a very close encounter where I thought I was going to die. You have all of those thoughts where, at the end of your life, these thoughts come rushing to you,” she says. “That’s what happened to a lot of us on Wednesday. I did not know if I was going to make it to the end of that day alive. And not just in a general sense, but in a very specific sense.”...CONINUED...

I think I would be afraid also, especially when seeing all those insane people coming in there and knowing what I know about some of those congress people.

1. My God. AOC was afraid some of her colleagues would hand her over to the mob.

The same members who carry guns into the Capitol building.

She goes into work now wondering if they will get her killed.

2. I'm wondering if one of them will kill her outright.

All they have to do is convince themselves they're doing God's will.

All of the Democratic members are at risk of this, and some of the Republicans as well.

3. Yes of course, it is a real possibility. We are at that point now.

These people are sneaking guns into the Capitol building.
And totally brainwashed idiots.
If they underwent a psych eval, the guns would be confiscated.

They are ticking time bombs.

4. And the other members of the squad

and every other non-White member of Congress they could get their hands on. I think part of the rioters' plan was to incapacitate as many member they could to ensure the electoral votes were not certified, then have the remaining Radical Right (I think they need their own name now) Republicans use the 12th to vote in Trump.

7. Yes. Given Ayanna Pressley's panic buttons were ripped out of her office,

it looks like the Squad may been on a list of targets. Also given Ayanna Pressley's panic buttons were ripped out of her office, there was inside knowledge and inside assistance to the effort. Horrifying.

6. I am worried about the Dems

especially when self-righteous gun nuts walk around with impunity, ignore the security in place, and now in place, and are a hair's breadth away from snapping like a toothpick.

Whatever vetting the r party used to do, they need to get back on track.

8. I'm sure she's not the only one

I'm certain that if they had managed to get to where they were, the Republican members waiting around and smirking would have happily pointed out who they wanted dead.
