“Signaling a dramatic new direction for U.S. foreign assistance, President-elect Joe Biden is expected to announce Wednesday that he will nominate former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power to head the U.S. Agency for International Development,” NBC News reports.

“Biden is also expected to enhance Power’s role by elevating the position to membership on the National Security Council.”

i've said for a long time that foreign aid in the form of food, medicine and wells would bring a lot more peace than guns and bombs and tanks.

As long as it gets into the right hands to get it to the people. Too many middle men take their share..
Power is a GREAT choice. Smart with a ton of experience. Saw a bio on her on Irish TV a few years ago.
Great lady with intelligence and a history of getting things done.. Good Job Joe!!

11. i love irish history. been immersed in it, while waiting for the plague to be over.

had planned to go this winter. tracing my tree, learning the drinking songs, and the history behind them while i wait it out.
turns out my ggreat grandfather was the brother of michael dwyer, the chief of wicklow.
