Mo Brooks facing censure resolution in House of Representatives (al.com)
Updated 7:54 PM; Today 1:44 PM
By Paul Gattis | pgattis@al.com and John Sharp | jsharp@al.com Congress introduced a censure resolution against U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks on Monday, an effort to deliver a punishment against the Huntsville congressman for his raucous comments at a pro-Trump rally hours before protesters briefly took control of the U.S. Capitol. The resolution came from New Jersey Congressman Tom Malinowski and Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, both Democrats, and states that Brooks’ comments to the crowd “encouraged and incited violence against his fellow members of Congress as part of an assault on the United States Capitol.” Four people died amid the storming of the Capitol, including a Capitol police officer. Law enforcement has said the protesters were seeking to stop Congress from approving the election results certifying Joe Biden as president. *** Brooks was one of two congressmen who spoke at the Save America rally near the White House on the morning of Jan. 6. The Malinowski/Schultz resolution cites several comments Brooks made in the speech, including: “Today is a time of choosing and tomorrow is a time of fighting,” Brooks said. “Today is also a day of revelation and separation. Today, the curtain will be pulled back and American patriots will learn by their votes which Republican senators and congressmen have the courage to fight for our America. Today, by their votes, Americans will learn which Republican congressmen and senators love their bourbon, love their cigars, love their prestige, love their personal power, love their special interest group money more than they love America.
“Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass,” Brooks said.
Brooks last week told AL.com that he would “make no apology” for his comments -- which was also noted in the Malinowski/Schultz resolution. *** more: https://www.al.com/news/2021/01/mo-brooks-facing-censure-resolution-in-house-of-representatives.html

2. He should be expelled! Censure is a half-measure.

4. Should but not sure that's going to happen. Being censured really limits their powers

3. We need Les Brooks, not Mo
The dumbass voters who sent this knucklehead to Washington shouldn't have their representation denied, but the House certainly doesn't have to provide Brooks a platform to carry out his sick agenda.

5. The dumbasses who voted for Mo...
... they deserve to have subpar representation. Eventually, they will wise up and vote him out.

6. From what I hear back home...
Alabama is nearly certain to lose a congressional seat, and it could very well be his. #justsayin.
