Regarding Pence: I can't wrap my head around this.

Living life while being as healthy as possible is the end game intuitively for most normal humans who do not have extenuating circumstances. By this I mean, barring mental issues, barring insurmountable financial problems, and barring onerous chronic health conditions, a person would usually choose to live their life as long as possible and with the fewest amount of hassles as possible.

From my point of view, if someone legitimately tried to kill me, and I was given the gift of some kind of swift legal recourse against this person, I would relish in putting the legal screws to this person, and tightening those screws down with an impact driver. After all, someone literally tried to erase my existence.

Pence is not doing that for whatever reason. Here he has a chance to at least try to get agreement on using the 25th amendment, but I don't see any indications yet that he is going to take this road.

Is his loyalty so blind that he would let Trump try to kill him with no recourse?

Does Pence have an ounce of loyalty to his family?

Or, is Pence afraid he will be killed by a crazed mob if he pursues the 25th?

Or, deep down, does he feel he is worthless and deserved what happened to him?

Wouldn't future political ambitions become moot for him at this point?

Or, is Pence just fucked in the head like your typical MAGA cult member?

1. He surely realizes that he can't get half the cabinet to agree.

Never mind 2/3rds of both houses.

Simply put, the 25th requires all the people needed for impeachment and removal and then a lot more people.

If he could remove Donnie via the 25th, we could more readily remove him via impeachment and conviction.

3. I would be compelled to try, even knowing that failure was probable.

But maybe that is why I would never make it in politics.

As some point, things become personal, rather than political.

4. Maybe he's hoping for full impeachment, so he can get better SS protection for life.

I just thought of this. VP's apparently get reduced SS protection, but as a president, he'll get SS protection at the level of an ex-president. Given the wackos were verbally talking of lynching him, this may be Pence's angle.

That actually makes some sense to me. Nothing else does.

6. Unblock's answer for the win!

You are right. He simply doesn't have the numbers of GOP MagaTerrorist Supporters to pass a resolution using the 25th Amendment. It must be hell living in his body/mind.

7. We don't know this to be the case

For all we know, he may be in favor but can't get enough Cabinet members to go along. They are the worst bunch of sycophants that has ever been assembled. Those that were insufficiently loyal have been run off and replaced with someone even worse.

Several have resigned this week, which in itself may very well be in lieu of actually having to take a real stand.

I don't give Pence a pass on anything but he is not the only person that is needed to 25th him. I doubt he would go public with any intention unless he had the votes otherwise.
