Army investigating officer who led group to DC
by: Associated Press
Posted: Jan 10, 2021 / 10:25 PM PST / Updated: Jan 10, 2021 / 10:26 PM PST ... Commanders at Fort Bragg are reviewing Captain Emily Rainey’s involvement in last week’s events in the nation’s capital, but she said she acted within military regulations and that no one in her group broke the law ... Rainey, 30, is assigned to the 4th Psychological Operations Group at Fort Bragg, according to Maj. Daniel Lessard, a spokesman for 1st Special Forces Command. Known as PSYOPS, the group uses information and misinformation to shape the emotions, decision-making and actions of American adversaries. Rainey made headlines back in May after she posted a video online of her pulling down caution tape at a playground that was closed under North Carolina’s COVID-19 restrictions. Police in Southern Pines, a community about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Fort Bragg, charged her with injury to personal property over the incident. The police told WRAL-TV that they let her off with warnings twice before after she tore down the tape closing off the playground ... https://ktla.com/news/nationworld/u-s-army-investigating-officer-who-led-group-to-d-c-trump-rally-turned-riot/

9. Same with my uncle and grandpa.
My uncle is a retired Lt. Colonel and my grandpa a retired PhD of psychology professor. Both seem way too smart for Trumpism but still seem to believe some of the bullshit. I think the root of their problem is racial bigotry. One good thing is that they were horrified about what happened Wednesday.

Now I'm hearing the Song of my Celtic ancestors: Never forget; never forgive. We served honorably, TEB and that trash insulted and demeaned us. Oh yeah and that AF Lt Col. I want to see his head on a pike.
Being a traditionalist, I'd want the old way brought back - sword broken, every bit of insignia removed right down to the buttons. Then frog marched to the gate and thrown out into the cold and dark. Yes, I'm somewhat vexed. |

At 17 or enlisting we swore oath and not realizing that oath carried us we were bound by oath. Under a trumpig presidency and vets that broke oath to constitution let them suffer consequences.

When they hear that 55% of white women voted for Trump.....with the two newest nut jobs in the House, Blackburn and Hyde-Smith in the senate, the lady who died trying to climb into a glass door and this lady, they are rabid and crazier than their male counterparts

than the males. Most in the Capitol were white males and all across the nation the crazy ass militias are populated by primarily white men.

"Police in Southern Pines, a community about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Fort Bragg, charged her with injury to personal property over the incident. The police told WRAL-TV that they let her off with warnings twice before after she tore down the tape closing off the playground ..."
It really hasn't been that long ago that I retired, but holy fuck! It appears that we used to demand more of military officers. Officers are "selected", and they serve in "positions of trust". It's mostly ceremonial, but even officer promotions at the lowest rank require Congressional confirmation. Every fucking promotion list MUST be confirmed by Congress. It's time to NOT FUCKING CONFIRM one more promotion list until there is a serious fucking top to bottom, bottom to top investigation and review of military standards of behavior and good order and discipline. If I, or an officer I served with had displayed this type of behavior, two warnings and a injury to personal property charge we would be riding a fucking desk and facing "relief of duty for cause". Here's why this is so fucking important. This fucking officer is in a position to order young men and women to go in harms way and die. She has been given authority to risk the treasure of our country...our own sons and daughters. She should NEVER, EVER be put in a position of trust. |

15. Article 94 UCMJ
States that not only is Mutiny and Sedition punishable by death, but
section 3 states that you have an obligation to stop it or at least report it to higher while it is happening. If not you are still culpable and the penalty is DEATH. 10 U.S. Code § 894 - Art. 94. Mutiny or sedition U.S. Code Notes prev | next (a)Any person subject to this chapter who— (1)with intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuses, in concert with any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his duty or creates any violence or disturbance is guilty of mutiny; (2)with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or other disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition; (3)fails to do his utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition being committed in his presence, or fails to take all reasonable means to inform his superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of a mutiny or sedition which he knows or has reason to believe is taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition. (b)A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct. 18. Hmmm.
She admits organizing a group to go to the coup.
Does that count as "in concert?" I'm not an expert here, but if she took a group of enlisted personal wouldn't that jack up the consequences. This looks to me like a very bad apple. It's a shame the military can't "police" itself. |
