(26,956 posts)The Confederacy was different. It wasn't a couple hour attempted takeover, it was years long, a separate, if traitorous, country.
I've been seeing similar posts here, and all of you who support this, need to think really hard. If we start stripping citizenship, it will happen to us down the road.
There's a reason we like to think of this country as a nation of laws.

(3,268 posts)and the law says rebellion is a crime and last time it happened those who rebelled and even those who did not support the rebellion lost citizenship. Every asshole seen inside the Capitol building is in open rebellion.
