I see a lot of celebrating here but when I look at CNN and MSNBC online they are saying the election is on a knife's edge. And "If he wins ..."
So which is it? Is all this celebrating premature
or has he actually won?

(102,100 posts)Still under the 0.5% threshold that would avoid an automatic recount, but more votes in Dem strongholds remain. So, it sure appears he won it.

(16,616 posts)because the remaining votes to be counted are in such heavily blue areas.
Somewhat like what happened to Trump in NV before Biden's win there was official.

(4,538 posts)His lead is slimmer than Warnock's, so they havn't called it, and won't for a while yet. But no way Perdue can eke a win out of the remaining vote that is from Democratic strongholds. Kornacki says Ossoff should end up with a lead of at least 20K.

(4,538 posts)Ossoff is at .4 now. Kornacki seemed to think he would most likely end up beyond the recount threshold of .5, but it all depends on how many votes Perdue gains. (He will gain some, just not enough to win.)

He will probably be 20K+ up before it's finally called. If Ossoff was GOP, it would have been called at 11:00 pm.
