That has only happened twice since 1887 (when the Electoral Count Act became law), in 1969 and 2005.

If an objection (signed by a Representative and Senator) is made this year, it will be an aberration – not simply an affirmation regarding election integrity.

In both those previous instances, the objections were voted down by significant majorities of both houses.
