2. Good luck with that
since you'll be out the door and the Biden administration will just reinstate it.

3. Is this legal? Does a state have to qualify for Medicaid in accordance with an administration's
Criteria? Last I heard, abortion was still legal.

4. The Evil Just Never Ends
I have on time to time imagined him disappearing from the face of the earth by all manner of possibilities. Aliens from some other galaxy finally come to take him back, or perhaps a lightening bolt strong enough to zap in his bunker. Or maybe just an old fashioned massive heart attack would work. I've been hoping for this for almost 5 years.
Frustrating how imagining an event to happen like any number of ways nature could vanquish Evil never seems to work or happen. |

10. Hmmmm, I guess they're trying to say Medicaid grants
are subject to the Hatch Act even though once the States get the grant, it's under State control?
I don't see the new administration agreeing with this. So in effect, Azar is holding CA funds for a month. Which is still a hardship for those who depend on Medicaid in California. Haele |

12. Can you imagine the bullshit if a Democrat pulled this shit with, say Mississippi?
A Democrat wouldn't do this, but if a Democrat vindictively held up money from a state like this, he or she would be immediately impeached by the Repukes.

15. Isn't that something that Congress deals with?
How is it that the executive branch dictates who gets funds of that sort?

16. Wouldn't necessarily go through with it but
Gov Newsom might respond "California sends billions of dollars more to Washington each year than it receives. So no problem. We'll withhold $2 billion a quarter until our Medicaid gets topped up after President Biden moves into the White House. Mr. Azar should find something else to waste his time on than breaking deals with States while trying to take healthcare away from citizens."

17. But...
As much as I've heard about how much blue states support the Federal budget.... what is the mechanism?
Taxpayers paying Federal taxes? Or? |

21. Yup, I floated a similar idea, and reality based DU'ers slapped my stupid down..
It’s through federal income taxes so it doesn’t pass through California’s control.
But I like the way you think. |

22. California employs about 500,000 people (ballpark)
Isn't the state supposed to deduct and remit federal income tax to the US Treasury for example?

18. Pretty sure there already was a court ruling that
denied Trump's petty revenge against blue states. This is just another made for TV PR stunt to give him a new excuse to fleece his brainless followers out of their rent money so he can enrich himself.
