Pinochet Did Nothing Wrong

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I saw that at Raw Story, on a Tee Shirt of a Proud Boy. Pinochet Did Nothing Wrong.

It says a lot about how these people think. Pinochet conspired with Nixon, Kissinger and our CIA to overthrow the thriving Socialist government of Chile, with a thriving middle class. Pinochet used the military, he drove tanks down the main thoroughfare and fired 24 missiles into the federal building in his coup to gain power. Pinochet, either imprisoned or killed anyone who was on the left.

The Libertarian, Chicago School of Economics, Milton Friedman, went to Chile to set up its economy. Everything was privatized, only the rich were educated, safety rules were tossed, women could only work in certain jobs. Chile lost its thriving middle class under Milton Friedman's economics.

This is what the Proud Boys want for America? They are so stupid if they don't know the history of Pinochet and what he did to Chile.
They only react to a word, "Socialism." Their goal is to destroy Socialism because they were told that it is bad and of course Democrats are Socialists.

I worked in Chile in 2002 and 2003 and I saw the effects of Pinochet.

may be the wrong term for what these morons actually do. Much of it is an adolescent desire to "own the Libs" via the shock value of breaking various taboos.

It's booger flicking, basically.

The fact that it's done by a bunch of heavily-armed dimwits with maturity challenges makes it a dangerous situation, but I suspect most of these clowns don't do a whole lot of heavy reading.

Paul Schafer, Pinochet's personal pedophile, tortured dissidents there and had people there trying to create a WMD program when he wasn't raping kids.

There's no way he didn't know what Paul liked to do as he was running his little sex cult there. I bet it was probably a bonus to show just how depraved he was.

Worthy read, told well.

The spin of this is the kind of convincing that happens for those who think the world is only one place and must be viewed through a single lens, theirs. It belies the depth and complexity of human society while offering a false perspective in an easy definition that neatly sets your place in the world as below theirs. The impact this has on education is enormous. You create a multi-generational, self-reinforcing situation where parents are expected to treat children as replacements of themselves in society, to continue their place in the world. So why read all those books?
