Obama campaign: Adjustments will be made in debate strategy

Adjustments will have to be made in President Obama's debate strategy, his advisers said Thursday, the morning after the president stumbled in his first showdown with Mitt Romney.

David Axelrod, Obama’s senior campaign strategist, said they are going to take "a hard look" at Obama’s debate performance and that they’ll “have to make some judgments about where to draw the lines in these debates and how to use our time.”

“It’s like a playoff in sports,” Axelrod said to reporters on a conference call, adding that there are strategic judgments “that have to be made and we’ll make them.”

Obama aides told The Hill that the president will look to be more aggressive in the next debate — scheduled for Oct. 16 in Hofstra, N.Y. — by launching a more full-throttle attack when he believes Romney isn't telling the truth.

Take it to him, MR. President! No more aloof professor, time to go mano on mano and don't let this asshole Romney bully you around one iota!

Like who in the entire free world did not know what Romney would try to do last night? Well, apparently it was quite a surprise to Obama's hotshot campaign organization.

All we heard about for the past few days was how Obama was preparing for the debate. WTF was he doing? Did he think Romney was going to shut up and let him speak? Did he actually think the moderator was gonna moderate?

I'm not being sarcastic. I could have predicted exactly how Romney was going to act. What I couldn't have predicted was how unprepared for it the President was going to appear.

Yeah, Ed!!!

Axelrod credited Romney for a “vigorous” performance in Colorado.

“Gov. Romney came to give a performance and he gave a good performance. The problem was none of it was rooted in fact,” he said.

“He may win the Oscar for his performance last night, but he’s not going to win the presidency for his performance.”

That's the key point buried in MSM drivel.

6. I'm going to vote for Obama even if he "loses" all three debates, but I'd rather he apologize for

something he does -- like tell Rmoney to go f#@k himself on national TV -- than apologize for not being at the top of his game and merely promise to change his strategy.

Obama did poorly last night in many respects (but not all), on that stage, at that time. He did let Rmoney crawl back into the race by not going after him on his lies and misrepresentations. Well, Obama at least, gave the Tbagging party members something to cheer about. . . . . . for the moment.

Hopefully, Obama will do better next time. We need to get over last night, move on, and remember not to become over-confident.

Obama's message is the right way forward in this election.

It's a nice thought but it was obvious that Romney's changing positions on the fly was going to be difficult to debate.

I have less of a problem with the president being off last night than I do with his people talking to the press, basically saying, "Yea, he sucked. We better change everything he did next time." Even if they're doing that privately, they should be standing behind him in public and saying, "You know what? Here's what you should focus on: Mitt Romney lied through his teeth all night last night. Did that catch the President off guard? A bit. He thought they were going to have an honest conversation with the American people. He didn't realize it was going to be a lie-off!"

I just FREAKIN' HATE how the Dems roll into the fetal position after things like this. JEEBUS! Enough already!
