He looked stiff....he looked phony...He gave no real answers...he got flustered and irritated...he was caught in repeated lies...the only reason he's being called the winner is because the MSM wants a Romney win in November.
Don't let them spin your minds, folks.

(92,116 posts)were right, but in the next few days I hope the polls don't reflect what the sentiment is here regarding the debates

(135,425 posts)He blinked through dyed eyelashes under dyed eyebrows.
You apparently were watching the same debate I had tuned in on my telly.
He also had a problem with aggression, rudeness, and a selfish inability to share the stage that was almost childish.

(57,936 posts)But Romney gave no details about his plans. Obama pointed that out very well.
And Romney did not deliver any so-called zingers, while Obama delivered quite a few.
Romney once again looked overzealous.
When he spoke of religious freedom, he got a little too teary to be believed.
I think Romney was expecting to be attacked and was being very alert.
In fact, Obama was easy on Romney.
I was disappointed that Obama did not point out that Romney's claim that the Democratic legislature in Mass. cooperated with him and that Congress did not cooperate with Obama is more of a slam on our Republican House than on Obama.
Of course Romney could work with a majority of Democrats in the Mass. legislature. They were Democrats. It's the Republicans in Congress that refuse to work with the president. I hope Americans know that.
Maybe Obama was sad because he was debating on his anniversary.

(4,119 posts)If I had turned off the TV after the debate...I could have gone to sleep peacefully.
I think the msnbc team, especially Chris Matthews...can't stand Romney and really wanted Obama to give him a verbal beating. But that's not his style. It was a debate...not one big mutual attack ad!

(26,355 posts)I think Obama could have done a little better if he had moved to the time-honored technique of the pivot & reframe, combined with some story-telling. Obama did some of that, but not enough.
That said, he didn't fall on his face either, and it won't take long for Obama, his surrogates, the fact-checkers and attack ads to call out Romney's firehose of lies.

I don't think most of the MSM (with the obvious exceptions) cares about a Romney win, but they do want the race to be competitive- otherwise there's no story and everybody ignores them.
