Amazing Formula 1 streak to end.

Lewis Hamilton tests positive with mild symptoms. Will miss at least next Grand Prix.

1. This is the only thing which stops him from winning. F1 has gotten boring b/c he wins every race.

Phenomenal driver, but man... they need to handicap his car. I'm glad he's planning to move to another racing series after this season.

3. His plans seem more to stay

This is the latest, as far as I'm aware - Nov 15:

“I feel like we’re just getting started,” Hamilton said.

“I feel physically in great shape and mentally… I know for so many people out there this year has been the hardest year. I know things always look great here on the big stage but it’s no different for us athletes. This has been a challenge I didn’t know how to get through but with the help of great people around me, I managed to keep my head above water and stay focused. I’m really hopeful for a better year next year and I would love to stay.
...
“I feel like we’ve got a lot of work to do here,” Hamilton added.

“We’ve only just begun our work to hold ourselves accountable as a sport, to realise that we’ve got to face and not ignore the human rights issues that around the countries that we go to, how do we empower them to do more, to really change 10 or 20 years from now. I want to help Formula One and Mercedes in that journey. As a sport, we need to be more sustainable. I want to try and see if I can be part of that, at least the initial phase of that, for a little bit longer.”

2. It's not that long a streak - he won the last 5

Bottas won the Russian Grand Prix about 2 months ago, where Hamilton came 3rd. 5 equals his previous best winning streak, but the best has been Vettel at 9: https://www.f1-grandprix.com/?page_id=43556

4. I was actually referring to consecutive starts.

He is amazing in his consistency.

5. Ah - OK, that is a record he holds

Though that's because Barrichello had 2 "Did Not Start"s in 2002 due to mechanical problems, despite qualifying in 2nd and 3rd:

Rubens had 326 consecutive race entries, from 1993 to 2011.
